I suppose aesthetically, a black local version would have enabled better colour co-ordination for swap overs but as you said, you want a retro look, whereas oth...
Re: Fiat 500e

Re: Importing 2013-2017 Nissan leaf from japan
A great resource here:
https://samholford.github.io/leafguide/
that covers a few issues with the Japanese imports, how to overcome some of them, plus reading the comments gives a good insight into the pricing New Zealanders are paying.

Bulk Purchase of Nissan Leafs
AEVA Tas and Nissan would like to offer a group discount to sell the remaining brand new 2012 model Nissan Leafs. This has been arranged through DJ Nissan in Hobart, although I'm sure a discount would also apply to purchasers in other states, given that the cars are not currently in Tasmania. Pleas...

Procedure is outlined here: http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/vehicl ... rview.aspx
This might be of interest to i-miev owners: http://www.j-spec.com.au/wiki/Mitsubishi/i/id-529 as it has some interesting colour combinations in the petrol model (scroll down for the images).
