Re: leaf cells

Ah but I think that there are none to import.
As far as I was aware he has a supplier of non-leaf lithium cells that he uses instead.

TBH the cost of the cells is such that if Nissan had a 3rd party reseller it really would help conversions or off grid applications etc..

Re: Direct Drive options

Somewhere sometime ago I remember seeing a conversion to a small car where they used dual brushless motors Etek/Mars etc that ran a chain reduction to adapters that fit the inner CV joins.
That was small and compact.
Motor + controller 10kW ~$3k
or $6k for 20kW cont which is more than plenty.

Re: Direct Drive options

I'd guess $15k+ just for the motor - not the actual transmission.
So $25k-$30k for the motor+gearbox+controller.

All really nice but ludicrously priced.

AC24LS with AT1200 might be doable - a bit rare though.

I would think that 100 W RMS per channel would be really, really loud in a car...
Nope it isn't.
Loud is when the front window flexes.

Re: EOI - New Yinlong LTO cells Australia

the high discharge and inherent cell voltage plus safety makes them perfect for the thousands of amps that car audio setups needs at 14 volts. Ah so I approached the problem from the other way. If think about a 10kW 1R sub the first thing that happens in the amp is it boosts the 14V up to 100+ volt...

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner ATV to EV: DIY kit any good?

Ha ha this guy, although in Russian, found the same thing... https://electrotransport.ru/ussr/index.php?msg=1211970 Looks like it comes with the 14T and 15T sprocket. I read through most of that thread. The best I can see is that the motor is more closer to 4.5kW/9kW. But no confirmed tests. Which i...

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner ATV to EV: DIY kit any good?

Here is the link for the motor specs. http://www.eastgem.net/d7500.html And the specs don't agree with physics... 10,000W and 4,500RPM is 21Nm NOT 100Nm. or 100Nm and 4,500RPM is 47,123W 7,500W and 4,000RPM is 18Nm NOT 50Nm. or 50Nm and 4,000RPM is 20,943W IF 7.5kW is the input power with 82% effici...

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner ATV to EV: DIY kit any good?

Mechanically you'll need to know the coupling to the wheel from the motor.
There seem to be a few variants to the LT250?!?
Is it just a chain and sprockets?

If so you'll need a sprocket for the motor.

I'd think it would be okay for a general run about.

I'd like a range of more than 50km for maintenance tasks around the farm, but I think that this would make the conversion too expensive, so I'm willing to settle for between 32 to 40km
Battery capacity is quite varied off-road.

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner to electric

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner ATV to EV: DIY kit any good?

The charger is unlikely to be approved for use in Aus.
Replace the mains cable with a locally bought part.
Pot luck on the quality inside.

Iv'e had stuff where the 3-pin mains doesn't even have the earth wire grounded on the product.

Anyone know if there is a way to set up a controller to act like a syncromesh in a gearbox? Tesla threw a few million at that problem 10 years ago and failed to get it to work reliably. WOW I'm screwed - I was going to do it in my spare time for under $10 :o I decided to take the clutch out of the ...

1269019700 (220V -1b)
1269039100 (240V -1b)
