FS - Celica AC Conversion Components

Reason for selling: I've made very little progress on my conversion project in recent years, so I've just bought a Volt and I'm shutting down the project. I've collected some pretty nice components over the years and I thought there might be a chance someone is interested in some of them. Location:...

PIP-4048MS inverter

Weber, The Raspberry Pi does not have ADCs, WiFi or an RTC but all of these can be added through additional modules, e.g. a USB WiFi dongle. You may not need an RTC if the device has a reliable internet connection as you can use NTP instead. For details on the serial ports, see http://lavalink.com/2...

The idea of wiring an array of 18 panels so that what is electrically a checkerboard, gets progressively shaded, does my head in. With the cross-ties, A2 and B2 are electrically equivalent so there's no difference between a checkerboard and a straight-across shading sequence. I think that particula...

Lithium Battery "Care"

jonescg wrote: Err, most automotive cells are in fact lithium polymer.
Chris, I know you are a fan of 'alternative' chemistries, but LiFePO4 is by far the most common lithium cell type for EV conversions, is not lithium polymer, and is notable for its safety.

Set of Azure Dynamics parts + BMW E30 for sale

I have asked and a4x4kiwi is unwilling to split up his kit, but if anyone is interested in just the motor and controller, I am willing to take the rest of the parts and share the cost. [It's a great motor, and I would buy it if I didn't have one already. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley1.gif ]

CHAdeMO retrofit

Perhaps the higher the voltage in a country the higher the electrical standards ? http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley2.gif Yes, we in Oz have one of the highest standard mains voltages in the world and our high safety standards are at least partly because of that - much easier to kill yourself...

C-Tick/RCM for EV components.

The definition of "supplier" seems awfully restrictive. This basically kills the market for second-hand conversions. And what if you lend your car to your mum to do her shopping?

Yes please, I would like to see exactly what they have said, rather than having us all base our speculation on your interpretation.

C-Tick/RCM for EV components.

To come back to TooQik's original question about EMC standards relating to EV conversions... NCOP14 section 4.5 (RF Remote Controls) states that, "Builders or modifiers must ensure that any RF devices they manufacture or use are in compliance with the ACMA requirements and are appropriately lab...

I don't intend to try and discourage you from a high-voltage conversion necessarily, but it's worth understanding what you're getting into. coulomb and later Renard alluded to it in that thread but I want to reiterate - the problems with high-voltage conversions are not just with safety, but also wi...

Siemens 1PV5138-4WS24

A bunch of us picked up the 1PV5135-4WS14, for which the Tritium WS200 is quite well suited, after the Azure Dynamics liquidation; so there's a few people in Aus doing conversions with a motor in the same family. None of us have progressed very far so we probably don't have a huge amount of specific...

Which of these are you ordering, or are they all the same thing?

I am interested in participating in a group buy to the tune of 104 x CA66FI if the price is right.

The schematic on the wiki page has a resistor in series with the centre diode, and a quick simulation suggests that this greatly improves the current waveform (better EMI). Doesn't help with the output voltage ripple though.

But I'm thinking it's the _car_ that should be level, i.e. the chassis rails under the cabin floor, not the wheels. What do other people think? If the car is sitting on level ground, the wheels will be level but the chassis rails may not be. So I would have thought that the most representative meas...
