gearboxes

you could put a clutch in it if they are really persistent, not that difficult Use a reversing contactor have a switch on the dash for fwd rev and neutral...and then you have a 10 speed gearbox !!and a neutral this does make the wiring a bit more complex as need to make it start in neutral only    ...

Best electric motorbike for L and P plater?

would suggest you try and use a kelly 6 kw hub motor and controller ( unsure of your wheel diameter) wheel weighs approx 15kg You need to speak to an engineer before you start as they probably wont like it if the bike ends up over its standard weight by much 90 kg is not a lot You should be able to ...

Inertia Crash Sensor Positioning

In the process of finishing one of many cars and in this build the controller and motor are in the front but all the rest of the electrical components are in the rear of the car What are peoples thoughts on fitting the inertia switch in the rear? It will probably respond quicker in a rear impact ? S...

The mokes going !! The timing belt makes a distinctive sound but is not annoyingly noisy it is very smooth and no vibrations as per the original ice the motor and diff is solid mounted to the subframe also Would happily accelerate over 100km/h without any problem at a max of 200a   the gauge is not ...

Mini or Moke conversion

I think its a little bit overdriven electric cars dont have to be slow! a choke loom is a Chinese Moke loom quite well made compared to the original except it doesnt come with a wiring diagram and you have to work it all out yourself headways will be good but a bit of work finished the wiring and th...

sounds like a plan but would have trouble getting it registered as it wasn't originally 4wd
but staring with a small 4wd would work
eg suzuki 4*4 chassis with a moke body !

Adapter plate for AC55

if you are using the clutch would be best to make a new flywheel with a taper lock in the centre as i recall the 55 has a splined shaft will need to make a mating piece i would make the flywheel as light as possible as the motor has alot of mass already roughly 12mm thick would be fine make sure you...

the altrax controllers can be paralleled together it shows them on their website would possibly need to contact kelly to check but this would reduce the range but increase performance

Hi Paul good to hear that you got it finished 120v and a higher rated controller will make quite a difference the controller that comes with the super zebo would be better off in a golf cart or if you have two you could try using both paralleled at 96v i believe it would be possible and would make i...

Use a chain and sprockets and mount the motor on the gearbox
simple for alignment cheap easy to change ratio if needed
use taper lock sprockets

their are twice the springs in the front to the back i thought it a bit strange but there is no sway bar
it may be required for the beam axle to work?
if it were softer the steering set up would induce allot of bump steer in a corner or a pothole
