Re: Servicing Imiev (90K service) K Mart??

I've never worked for that company but I have worked elsewhere and I understand what you're saying. I don't know what's in a 90 000 service but if there's very little that concerns you, it won't be the end of the world. If you want peace of mind just to know someone did something, make a little trip...

Re: vectrix scooter being sold for spare parts

I have two vectrixes with calb lion batteries. The red one was new when I got it, the blue one second hand. Haven't looked but they both have around 12000 km on them. I'm currently riding the red one and it is behaving normally (bald rear tyre, throttle rubber grip missing. The blue one I have kept ...

Re: Hyundai Sales Tactics

kasterboros, I just figured out what makes as much sense as your most annoying posts. Clive Palmer's big yellow bill boards. Before the election, I kept saying to myself, "Surely they won't fall for that, surely they won't fall for that" and the public didn't. Sure, he just wanted to sway the electi...

Re: Hyundai Sales Tactics

You say "researching them" but you make little comment about the cars themselves other than to bring up issues about peripherals and what might be. Then you talked about a salesman talking smack against tesla but proceeded to do what you said the salesman did by taking the word of a "salesman" who m...

Re: Hyundai Sales Tactics

Hi Kasterbourous, What ev do you own? Do you intend to buy one soon? The Kona owners here seem to generally be very pleased with their cars. My imiev runs well after that one problem I had. Its main problem now, it seems to me, is that the newer cars with their much better range make it seem a littl...

Members thoughts on the different EV brands

Hi, I am an avid EV enthusiast. Chiefly from a global warming point of view, but also because we have the technology, we just haven't used it. I would like to start a conversation about the pros and cons of the different ev brands which are appearing now. I would like to see discussion about the qua...

Re: Model 3 orders are now Open!

gday users, I've got it into my head that I want a Model 3 as well, just like Ultralights. In fact, I'll have Ultralight's if he'll accept the new address. But I've got another problem. Even if I got one like his, I'd have nowhere to park it. Currently occupying its spot is a malvern star and a monk...

Re: Charging e-mail From Renault Australia

It would be great if the early adopters of these hopefully great new electric cars can comment about the gotchas that manufacturers build into their otherwise commendable creations. To learn about the existence of dashboard reminders that are annoying and maybe not avoidable, the idea of putting fea...

I went buying scales lots of years ago and noted that mechanical scale readings cruised up and down as I massaged the top of the scales with different positions. Bought a japanese digital set in the end. They're still working. You always have to stand in the middle from side to side since your toes ...

Re: New Tyres

Yes, well, finally, this is how I did tyres for 10 years (rotation, not wheel alignments). The easiest decision to make was where the rear tyres had even wear but the fronts had been punished around corners or were over or under inflated. Then it was front to rear on the same sides. If the fronts we...

Now I'm curious if any vehicle manuals advise rotation across the car. Anyone? Brendon, do you work in a tyre place or otherwise where is your knowledge of this coming from. Just really curious. I don't but I did an apprenticeship and I know what I absorbed. Is 'standard rubber' an advance over tyre...

Yes, never thought about the tyres being swapped on the rims as that has never been brought to my attention in 16 years of garage work some years ago. You would need to give the tyres quite some value before you'd pay for that as the option.

Re: New Tyres

Tyres are never moved from one side to the other as they have a direction of rotation. The tyre construction doesn't like it if it has to roll in the opposite direction to its marked direction of rotation or anyway, to the opposite direction to how it is currently rotating. The wear is probably due ...

:) So the next thing is to check out the tyre from the other side and see if it is worn is a similar way, to get an idea of whether there is something different with the setting of just that tyre that you showed. However, after 30000, my way of doing things would be to be happy and do what you're do...
