Cheaper in the long run to put an extra panel out? (Extra cells cheaper than regen argument :-) Exactly, given relatively exceptional aussie insolation endowment thanks to it geo position the tracker is not worth it. The direct route of adding extra panels seems more plausible, exceptions might app...

Thundersky battries on there side?
Even though the situation improved by finally making available assembly blocks to hold cylindricals by other means than fragile contact points, I'd say they are still somewhat less sturdy form factor in comparison to large capacity prismatics. Mind you this is automotive application, you are expecti...

I'll post it when/if it comes, there is some preliminary ballpark figure on those Emrax motors around $3k quoted as base for US customer. However, pursuing multiple inquiries is welcomed as it will send a message to the factory there is building up of interest.

Yep, that's the only problem with A class, it's heavy, ~1,5t target as loaded platform, so the tranny must be on purpose somewhat muscular in comparison to ~1t (or sub) econoboxes. Definately more DC based drivetrain conversion project, ~100kW AC system still mucho expensive to get it movin, 25-30kW...

Lets stay for a while in the same country. Emrax motors (and future controllers), liquid cooled, high torque (~200Nm), the best BLDC price/power/weight ratio on the market, possible application of direct drive on the same axis for cars.. 40kW peak, 30kW cont. in basic ver. 60kW peak, 33kW cont. in a...

Sorry for highjacking the thread slightly. Richo, I'm wondering why didn't you opt for the Tuarn/Mal method of braking the packs via contactors into smaller ~48V divisions? Was it because of the factory BMS from Headway, which you modified? So, you are using only two -ve/+ve EV200s then? Or am I mis...

I've been eyeing several slovenian produced ac systems for years, there are at least 4x companies (plus related university research programs) in this tiny alpine country specializing in this area, perhaps because of long tradition of electronics industries, mostly they are focusing on marine segment...

Fuji variable speed drive any good?
Interesting similarities there, 12000rpm multi-lol; however ACP introduced some dielectric inside their ver. of emotor - so it worked as charger with their inverter as well. Also they supposedly outsourced the manuf. based to asia few years ago, not sure if that meant both emotor + inverters.

That's true, but the market for clean/not rusty MGs and Minis will be drying up with progressing time and that's the factor I tried to address here. It's quite possible that as the tooling, material and knowhow (incl. CAD/CNC) for complex carbon shapes goes down each year, that in not so distant fut...

There is also aspect we probably didn't mention yet. And that's how the conversion would hold value. It's a completely another story from either recycling old rusty clunker or using generic kitcar, this is a brand new bodyshell of the famous 60s period british sportscar manuf. from the genuine molds...

Cabin (heating xy m3 of leaking air and vehicle steel/plastics) v. individual body heat, yet again. Well, the above is not solely based on Rickard. With regard to the "burning score", true he destroyed couple of cells more or less intentionally, while many BMS die-hards burned through couple of vehicles, plus buildings and sea ships, just in couple of recent months lol. And that's a smir...

There should be on the market already a new gen "the grey series" of Calb batts (part of "Thundersky" holding) which are specific ev-conversion form factor ready, i.e. upstanding connectors but not those high cases anymore, these are wide and short. Btw. do you have a blog or ded...

Richo is right, Etek should be enough (plus it has been done before w. retrofiting old outboards). Most of these are prolly "need to know basis" high level development/prototype sourced items, i.e. unobtanium or be given quotes several times above Tritium's experimental "carbon stuff".. You might look at massmanufactured HSD transaxles and or emotor/diff. combos instead as we ...

Bravo, I'm glad that after years of drumming up this option of re-using/recycling HSD components, somebody picked up the challange finally. Thanks for the prompt clarification. Any take on the related discussion in other threads? James, on his October 8th show Rickard said something to the effect, he was considering your WS inverter as a replacement for the MES-DEA, however, you seemed to indicate to have some issues with your subcomponents delivery, is it a question of the Semkiron powerstage supplier, capacitor bank, or wh...

Always read the fine print, it sais EVO tested on 600VDC inverter, so how severe would be the derating on WaveSculptor or any other lower sitting "mid" voltage inverter, matter of minus (1-3%) from that 96% or more?
