EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

The leaf spring would work but the air suspension idea would be adjustable and you could have a restrictor in the line that joins the 2 together to give some resistance for tilt. In other words highly tuneable making it possible to get it just right.

EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

EV2GO I remember you discussing the design of this back diff tilt( a couple of years ago) and disagreeing with your original plan, but this, your latest plan will work and is as simple as it possibly could be. As you say if the suspension is air, then it allows tilt. If the movement in the shocks (s...

My TZR 250 EV project

The Zero has no auxiliary battery yet it complies with ADR rules here. It has a compliance plate and is registered. So would seem it's not a must for bikes (as I suggested). I see you are suggesting its a good idea regardless of rules, and thats something to consider. About my build, I just bought a...

No, just followed your link and had a look just now. Looks good on the youtube clip, but then so does the eco mower, but in reality its only so so on power. But with the lithium battery mine is a whole new beast now. Its amazing the difference the change made. I think you would need to test run it (...

One other thing I did was bend the backs of the blade up a bit more so it throws the grass a bit harder. It cuts wet or dry grass now with no problems. No clogging etc. The grass gets thrown right to the back of the catcher and compacted in a bit. It looks like your eco mower has spent a lot of time...

I also converted an eco mower to Lithium cells. I used a ping battery pack. The pack is 24V 30ah, has built in BMS and overload cut out circutes and I got a 10ah charger with it as well. The original battery was 24v 10ah (2 sealed 12v lead acid batteries) and I got 5 years out of it. I can now mow t...

I think no need to chat with him. It is interesting about the extra battery. I have been trying to decide if I should get it. I think I will get it without and if I run into range issues, I can always order one.

Varley were going to be fast last year, but reliability let them down.

Hi guys, how are things looking for this season? Found any more speed/cornering? Chris I have a question for you. There is an article on the front page of the AEVA web site about a zero SR electric bike. How happy is the owner with it now he has had it a while? I am thinking of buying one too. Does ...

OK makes sense. Now that you have explained that, is that why the small RC lipo charger I have turns off to check the cell voltage then turns on again, to get an accurate voltage reading? And if so - there's a new mod for your BMS :) Some ideas I have had, but have no idea if it is possible are as f...

Weber and Coulomb's MX-5

Weber I have a question (maybe dumb so forgive me) but I have a 132V controller running a 118V (3.3V per CALB cell) thats 36 cells. so at 3.65V (when my simple BMS turns on the resistor to bypass gives me 131.4V (the maximum for the controller). Now if I want to add 2 extra cells so I have 125.4V (a...

I printed a box up last night but it might be a bit overkill on thickness (4 mm thick, 80% solid), so I might do one 2mm think (lighter). That way you can choose between strong or light. Initially I was thinking it would be outside in the open like on a normal motor bike, but since you said it doesn...

I am assuming the lid is 212 mm X 54 mm ?
what about mounting lugs ? will you bolt it on or cable tie it on?
I would suggest cable ties and lugs to hold the lid on.
what diameter are the cables coming out and where, one on each end or both at the same end?

Hey Chris

If you want or need I can try printing one up on my 3d printer for you. Just send me the measurements you want including any mounting lugs and how thick I can make it. I have PLA and ABS or nylon (not sure how the nylon would go).
Just let me know.

Can I fix my TC/Elcon charger myself?

so now I have pulled the cover off and I have power on both sides of the 2 main fuses (AC and DC) so I think I need to take it to someone who knows what they are doing. Ah one think you haven't spoken about is setting up and tuning your suspension. Have you done this or is that still to come?

Fine tuning the suspension will get it handling better through the corners.

Nice job Ian. At least yours is finished, mine just sits in the garage at 95% done waiting for me to finish it.
