Re: Towing with an Ioniq 5
Thanks for sharing your data. I have done 2 trips with a 1996 Jayco Hawk. Tare 750 kg. Yet to put over weigh bridge. Speed the killer. At 85kph 24.7kW/100km. At 100kph 30.4kWh/100km. I did have 33kWh at 100kph with a head wind. With no caravan consumption is typically 18 to 22 kWh/100km at 100kph.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Just got my second puncture on a second Nexen tyre ... screw yet again ... The improved mileage of Michelin Primacy is tempting. At what pressure though?

Re: Frunk/Froot for Kona
Question . how much dust and spray gets into the Frunk box? Should an elastic cover be added or does the aluminium bonnet‘s foam do the trick? I have noticed the AC charger beneath ( faux engine block head ) gets quite warm and can exceed 65C so a space is required to vent and the foam wedged down o...

I've had the same issue of needing to slam the tail gate. Took it back to dealer who "adjusted" the pads. It improved but not the "softness" I would like. may take it back to "adjust" pads again. I have noticed if i push down too far from centre it will not lock.

Did the solar array issue at Mundrabilla ever get solved? I heard, about mid 2018, that the array would switch off mid morning when the generation hit peak...something to do with software on the inverters . It was mentioned it was giving solar a bad name on the crossing. So, was it resolved by a cou...

Used UWA Tritium charger to lift from 5% (20km GoM) SoC to 45% SoC (206km GoM) in 35mins with 26.2kWh at an average of 45kW rate. If the new ChargeFox ( 350kW ) can put in 65kW into the Kona it translates to 269km in 35 minutes = 230km per half hour. My beverage, food, toilet stops require half an h...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info
Is that kwh measured AC in? If so, keep in mind the charger isn't 100% efficient, and the rest of the cars systems don't draw nothing (running 12v, cooling battery, etc) so AC kwh in is somewhat higher than dc kwh that actually gets stored After dropping the battery to 5% from 100% charge by a day ...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info
Kona EV 2019 battery capacity.
Stated as 64 kWh.
So why do my first 2 calculations suggest 78kWh?
Where is my error?
Estimated Capacity = Charged amount kWh divided by percentage SOC increase x100
Just two days recorded properly at this stage.

Re: Limited Kona Electric Floor mat options in Oz
I used vee rubber matting from Clark Rubber. The wider at 1500mm meant rear could be done in once piece. Downside is that is tricky and the fumes are problematic- so only out in mats when on holiday. Needed just 1.25m of 1500mm wide version. https://www.clarkrubber.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/248...

Public Education, misinformation corrected about EV basics

Can I ask what power supply the dash cam tapped into? OBD? Will there be much battery drain when the recording switches on and off when parked, if it records pedestrian activity at the front?
