Looks like I can't send you a DM either (same as Jason Arnold above) but hopefully the forum will allow it shortly..

Re: MC1000C Extra parts

Hi @zeva I'm also interested in some MC1000C parts (actually joined the AEVA forums to get in touch as per your instruction on the ZEVA site). I'm new here and can't yet send (or receive?) DM's, but wanted to get in contact at least. I don't seem able to send you a DM here either (and am cautious a...

Re: MC1000C Extra parts

Hi GE11, yes I still have some parts for the MC1000C controllers (as listed here: https://www.zeva.com.au/index.php?product=121)

Feel free to send me a private message if interested.

Re: ZEVA BMS24 CAN Communication

Hi, sounds like programming was successful (if you're getting a flashing LED), and the BMS should reply to CAN messages even with no cells connected.

The problem may be that you are sending the request with ID 0x300 (i.e hexadecimal). Try 300 decimal, or 0x12C hex.

[SOLD pending pickup]: 100pcs Sony/Murata VTC6 18650 cells (3.7V 3.0Ah), $400

I have for sale 100pcs of Sony VTC6 3.7V 3000mAh 18650 lithium batteries, still in their original box, left over from a cancelled project. Considered one of the best all-round 18650 cells for their combination of high power and energy density. Cells were purchased last year but have been sitting in ...

Re: ZEVA BMS can shunt interface setup help needed

Sounds like you shouldn't need to compile new firmware - as Matt points out, 300A 75mV is the same scaling as 200A 50mV, so you can use the 200A setting plus the 50mV modifier, i.e add wire jumpers from PD3 and PD4 to ground to correct the scaling. But, it reuses the programming port for current sel...

Re: Zeva BMS SOC counting down while charging?

If you seem to be getting sensible values for current but the SoC goes in the opposite direction, a reversed current sensor is the most likely explanation - will just have to flip it 180 degrees on the cable (i.e wire going in the other direction through the blue hole). Reverse current display setti...

Re: ZEVA BMS not able to program chips.

Hi Vicente, the STK500 should be able to program them - I used to have one of those. Another programmer you could try is a USBASP, which you can get off eBay pretty cheaply. AVRDude is a good utility for programming AVR chips, works with both of those programming devices and any microcontroller of a...

Re: ZEVA BMS with Solis 6kW solar inverter

OK an updated design files archive can be downloaded for the monitor from the ZEVA website with a few extra precompiled firmware hex files. 3 beeps then a pause sounds odd, I'm not sure why that would be. Beeping is a good start though (means the micro is programmed and mostly working). You shouldn'...

Re: ZEVA BMS with Solis 6kW solar inverter

In fact it's probably the other way around - my compiler is a much older version, and prog_char got deprecated, if I remember correctly. And perhaps some other things have changed. (prog_char was needed because the monitor had too many string variables to fit in RAM, so it has to keep them in flash....

Re: ZEVA BMS with Solis 6kW solar inverter

Hi Bevan, it may be as simple as adding Common.h to the project in Microchip Studio - hopefully it will then include it its build process. (Or you can build via command line and tell the compiler which header files it needs to include, but I forget the exact syntax..) As Rob mentions, not all of the...

Re: ZEVA BMS with Solis 6kW solar inverter

Hi Phil, that error is expected - it's the same monitor firmware that works with both EVMSs and BMS16s but only one shared error code. Your friend with the same inverter, and son with 5kW one - perhaps they could try swapping monitors to confirm if the problem is an incompatibility with that particu...

Re: ZEVA BMS with Solis 6kW solar inverter

6m certainly shouldn't trouble CAN bus, even with unshielded cable. (CAT5 is twisted pair but not shielded IIRC.) I guess double check that the cores are making good contact inside the screw terminals (could also jiggle the wiring and see if it triggers the error), and/or add a second 120ohm termina...

Re: ZEVA BMS with Solis 6kW solar inverter

One option would be a switch on the 12V wire between the BMS and monitor, which could be extended a fair distance away so you can remotely turn monitor power on and off. Though if going to the trouble of running switch wires, it might be better to run a CAN cable and just have the whole monitor remo...

[SOLD] Dilong DA3K3M17-150C charger (100-200VDC, 3.3kW), $495

Anyone looking for a 100-200VDC 3.3kW charger for their EV conversion? I have a Dilong DA3K3M17-150C that I'm looking to sell. It was purchased direct from Dilong last year for evaluation (prior to ZEVA finishing up), but other than briefly testing on the bench to make sure it works, it is brand new...

Re: Prelude conversion project - some questions

The beauty of this thing is that it talks to the TC charger and takes signals from the EVSE the car is plugged into. If the EVSE says it can offer 32 A at 240 V AC, then the widget tells the TC charger to up the power. If the EVSE is limited to 15 A, it will automatically turn the charge power down...

Re: DC Motors - Shunt?

I'd need to ask @zeva if it could handle regen from a DC shunt motor. Unfortunately not, the motor controllers I make are a "quarter bridge" design which can't support regen. As far as I know, Zillas and Curtises are the same story. I think Kelly do some half bridge controllers that can s...

Bike is now sold! A few years back I converted my Honda NSR150 motorbike to electric. It’s probably worth more sold as parts, but I’d rather see it go complete to someone who might en...

Questions on Elcon/TC chargers

Elcon (TC) Chargers are normally setup in the factory for your preferred voltage. I recently added CAN integration with TC Chargers to the ZEVA EVMS. As people have mentioned, it allows you to adjust the charger's target voltage and current parameters, and also allows the BMS to shut the charger do...

Ian Hooper's Honda NSR150 conversion

Range seems to vary a lot depending on speed. On the weekend I pottered about the suburbs at 50km/h and got 10.8km from 10% of the battery (equals 108km range)! But just now I did a 16km loop with half of it at 80km/h, and it used 31% (equals 52km range). I was probably more enthusiastic on the thro...

Ian Hooper's Honda NSR150 conversion

Well, after sitting in the corner of the workshop in pieces for more than a year, the electric NSR is back up and running again! I had planned to convert it to AC, but decided just to get it back together with the motor I had (Motenergy ME0709), and fix some of the old shortcomings. Its main problem...
