Mercedes electric vehicles

Post by Troglodyte »

can't see how to create a new thread for this but maybe someone will know

According to the sales manager at Mercedes Robina, Australia will get electric Smart in 2014 & the A class by 2016. No mention of price at this stage. Dunno if I'd be interested in a Smart but I'd have an electric A class in an instant providing the price is halfway intelligent. Apart from the A class wait time, I can imagine Mercedes likes the idea of letting Tesla get some real world experience here before the Mercedes brand name is exposed. Seems the A class ED shares most of the drive train with Tesla.

IIRC, the electric A-Class has a Tesla drivetrain/battery in it.
