Re: Inverters not accepting generator power

although that wastes a lot of power. It's quite possible that if the bulbs are needed, they are only needed for less than a minute, so the wasted energy is minimal. I would use a balanced load, so three similar loads actives to neutral, or a single three-phase load. Once the inverter accepts the ge...

on their shop site they show a different picture. Also they speak from 1500Wp over 2500Wp to 3000Wp on the same page 8-) Ok, that looks more hopeful. Looks like I saw an old photo. So where is this signal going to, and could that be added or activated in my charger? It looks like it goes to the on-board charger. But also it may get processed (buffered? amplified? filtered?) and sent on to the EV-ECU: Pilot signal to charger.png Complete schematic that the above was taken is i...

Hi all, Welcome to the forum! (finally; I know you had a lot of trouble registering, part of which was my fault). I buyed one from wattstunde, which seems to be a generic Voltronic. I had an hour phone call with one of their technicans who was very afraid of the wrong Statements on their website an...

please let me know of anything i should consider before doing this? You should consider Weber's experience , where he had to go back to original fans. I hope you meant 18 kWh of energy on the AC side, Mr National Secretary and Branch Chair. :geek:

now working for 2 months the only problem is that the inverter brakes it at 120v, so it is not possible to raise the mppt ranger to 220v I can't find any data on that controller. Is the problem that the inverter, in trying to find the maximum power point, drags the wind controller's output below 22...

In reverse it is open both methods. That's the most important thing. [ Edit: and I believe it means that your car was at one stage updated with the Gelcoservices GS1011 harness. Otherwise, I believe that you would not be seeing diode-like behaviour. Or possibly, it had the harness replaced with one...

I may have to trace continuity from that pin to wherever The easy way would be with a multimeter on diode range from pin 4 to pin 3, because of the following path: Diode check.png The pins are arranged as follows; you want pilot (4) and ground (3): J1772 socket pins.jpg You should see about 0.5 - 1...

2) Activating the trigger on the gun increases the resistance between earth and PP from 150 to 480 Ohms and this signal shuts off the charging, what would happen if an other resistor ( a pot?) would increase it to something in between? Re: BMS requirements for energy storage.

My question is what does the BMS need to do other than balancing the batteries? It's like a breaker in your house switchboard: if all goes well, it should do nothing. But apart from balancing, it should check for over- and under-voltage on all cells, over-temperature, and it should prevent charging...

Nah. It's limited to "only" 600 A (so to get 500 kW you need an 833 V battery). So it will take ~5 minutes!

Assuming of course that your iMiEV was beefed up a bit so it could take 12C.

But before I would do that (I doubt I will) I would build a relay into (onto) the gun to simulate pressing the trigger. A robo EVSE plug! Maybe you should go the whole hog and adapt a Tesla snake "charger" (actually it's just the cord part of an EVSE). Just don't bend over when that thing is active...

It is possible that killing the charging without letting the machine know is bad ( pressing the trigger on the gun, changing the resistance between earth and PP pins from 150 to 480 Ohms is supposedly ending charging more gently, though checking it with a clamp meter the drop in amperes is immediate ...

Re: PIP inverter repairs and hardware modifications

It seems that the fan speed control output from the control board is on pin 40 (FAN SPEED/). That's ninth from one end (48 pins total, 3 groups of 16). Depending on where the control circuit (if any) is located, it might be easier to start from there. [ Edit: the problem could even be the digital bu...

Please explain what you disagree about the pylontech recommendations and why. Firstly, the voltages are far too high for battery longevity. 53.2 V / 15 cells = 3.55 VPC, not much room from the absolute maximum of 3.6 VPC (some manufacturers use 3.65 VPC). For solar energy storage, there is simply n...

In PYL mode, does one still experience premature float bug. If you follow that recommendation, the premature float bugs have no effect. Edit: more to th...

Hello guys, Welcome to the forum. Here is my repair plan: 1. Replace all 16 MOSFETs with some replacements. Basing on your experience, what you suggest? I really don't know the 24 V models well. I'd say you could replace them with the same part, or any with similar specifications. At 24 V, as long ...
