Noises on!

Well the AVAS in the Outlander PHEV is annoying once you first notice it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEivtfIVNow I usually switch it off which needs to be done every time you drive. Tyres make lots of noise, you can hardly hear the ICE of a specific modern vehicle near you, except under heavy ac...

Got 2 replacement Maxell CR2032 for $2.49 inc postage and I've been back up and running for a week or more now. Cheap fix, if only they were all that easy & cheap.

Chademo charger for the Outlander?

They could also do a software update on the old model and have the ECO button do the same Interestingly, the MY17 has both the old "Eco Mode" button on the dash AND a new "EV" button near 4wd lock. I agree with you HHL, remapping the Eco button would have sufficed as the PHEV already has enough but...

Chademo charger for the Outlander?

I spoke with the MMAU product specialist at the AEVA AGM. MY17 Outlander PHEV's Not Shayna Welsh by any chance? I've just found this article MY17 which interestingly says the PHEV will get improved throttle response and acceleration, while a small enhancement to battery capacity and range will see ...

Chademo charger for the Outlander?

why they bothered with an EV only mode and what it actually means. In the 2014, unless you sink the boot in or run out of battery - it's EV only anyway. I've yet to meet a PHEV owner (maybe you're the first?) who doesn't want an "EV only" button, because watching the power gauge is painful. Even on...

Chademo charger for the Outlander?

MY17 Outlander PHEV's land in the country in Feb and will hit dealers in March. CHAdeMo and EV only mode button standard. Wow, that's great news, thanks for posting. I thought we were going the way of USA and missing out on new PHEV's. It will be interesting to see how they implemented the EV only ...

That blue flashing led is associated with it. It seems like it isn't activated unless you lock the doors with the button on the remote key. This is probably the answer, we leave our iMiEV unlocked in the garage so I guess I didn't need to "deactivate" the immobiliser with my dead key. PHEW! the rem...

Thanks for that, I'd missed that thread. That confirms there is no immobiliser in the 2010 iMiEV so any "locksmith" can steal it.

What good would a key be if it didn't work? I though immobilizers either worked via keys that have built-in circuitry, or - well I'm not sure how else they'd work. I once had a Daewoo with an immobiliser built into a lump on the key, it used a close proximity energiser coil to run the onkey chip (a...

Cool, thanks. I'm really surprised the physical key alone works, as it implies there is no immobilizer which I thought was standard on all cars in the past 10yrs or so?

i-MiEV 2010 Keyless battery dead

I've recently noticed that the "key" icon on the dash flashes for a while before detecting my key, however today it failed completely. I fortunately had read somewhere that you can remove the ignition switch cover and insert the physical key once the key is removed from the key fob. PHEW the car is ...

Recalls 2016

I guess the reason I suspect a change is that we've consistently seen 105 - 109 since the service Our range has gone back to the normal 97 or so. I think the replacement of the charger or something else they did during the recalls reset the BMU stats, which have now updated, meaning the RR is more ...

All tried to rip me off blind except Booths in Gosford. A family owned and run company I believe. I will take a trip up there Make sure you have that in writing. Recalls 2016

I don't see how you could tell - temperature variations in the mornings can affect my range estimate more than a few km I guess the reason I suspect a change is that we've consistently seen 105 - 109 since the service, and never seen that in the previous 2 years so including 2 summers. As I said, t...

Recalls 2016

It took them 3 & 1/2 weeks to fix them all. I hope you weren't without the car for that period? Our iMiEV is heading in tomorrow, they said it was just an exploratory stage (whole day!!!) and would need to go back if any issues were identified. Our local dealership is hopeless however it would be P...

Hackers dream perhaps I'm not worried. 1. The hacker has to be within wifi range of you while you are actually using the Mitsu App. 2. They can only disable the alarm and run the heater, they still need to physically break into the PHEV as they can't remotely unlock it. 3. They can't drive the PHEV...

Updated charge station POI for nav. Dec 2015 data

maybe there's already someone amongst us who's sufficiently can-savvy to be able to design/build an equivalent from scratch? I think its even simpler than that, it looks like this device just turns on and off the data feed(s) to trick the MMCS into thinking it is stationary. The hardest part would ...

It worked! Has anyone figured out how to disable the annoying startup screen and go straight to the map without pressing OK? No, however this device gets around the annoyance of the MMCS locking up while you are driving so passengers can't program the destination etc. I gather its about $100 (seems...

Probably more about incentives though, like congestion charge exemptions in London. Yep, the 3 biggest countries for PHEV sales are Japan, Netherlands and UK. The latter 2 have BIG incentives which make the PHEV cheaper than ICE for some consumers. Intrigued there have been 2000 sales in Oz, last I...
