I'm sure this has been discussed before but can't find the thread. My tyres are needing replacing and I wa to get the best tyres available not just what the store wants to get rid of.
My priority would be low rolling resistance first and cost last. What are the best tyres out there?
What have other Imiev owners purchased and have you been happy with them?

I think the stock iMiev tires make it an ideal "drift car"... I can skate around corners with the greatest of ease!

The 10mm wider front tyre was a distinct improvement in handling.

I had Continental Ecocontact 2's fitted all round.
Noisier for sure. But grip has improved a fair bit.

Was a while ago...Around $550 for 4 fitted and balanced. My advice would be do not use the original Dunlops after 5 years of age. They appear to break up internally. that was the case with mine.

Interesting. I replaced my front original tyres when they still had plenty of tread because I noticed a distinct egg-sized bulge on one of the side walls. I assumed that it must have been damage from hitting a pothole hard (which I vaguely recalled doing) but perhaps not.

Back in 2015 I took our iMiEV to the Eastern Creek skidpan for my brothers car club meet as he thought it would go well on the tight witches hats circuit. It did go well, however bigtime understeer. We let the fronts down and pumped the backs up to make it a bit better. Played with traction control, no change.
Then recently, going through a roundabout in the rain with 4 people in the car. I accelerated a bit coming out of the roundabout and before I could correct it the car had done a 180 degree spin as it caught me by surprise. Luckily I didn't hit anything but wife was not impressed. If only I could have had that kind of oversteer/drift at Eastern Creek!
I run the "AcMotor" suggested Continentials on the front since the stock Dunlops wore out, $129ea fitted I think. Pretty happy with them, definitely plants the front firmer.
