I have sent the following message to Hyundai Australia

“It now appears that as of the 24 October Hyundai NZ is recalling 700 Kona EVs. They have also given advice to NZ owners not to charge above 80% and disconnect charger after charging. Is this your advice for Australian owners!!!!”

I am aware there is an ongoing topic, I started it. However, I judged that the NZ recall and my questions to Hyundai warranted a new topic. Many of us existing Kona owners who park and charge their cars in their garage are very concerned. If the OFFICIAL word from HMCA is that we only charge to 80% and disconnect after charging, we need to be informed of that immediately. If the site moderator believes my two topics should be merged they will do so.

It makes sense that New Zealand, with its far larger EV market than Australia's (due in large part to their sane government), gets the recall notice before Australia.

In so many ways, Australia dominates the Oceania region. In EV leadership, not so much.

I'm not sure if it's technically feasible, will have to do a bit of research on that, unless one of the other admins (@coulomb, @weber ?) happens to know off the top of their head. If we were able to combine them, what would the mega-thread be called, just "Kona Recall"?

It's not hard, I just wonder if it's worth the small effort. Sure, one topic is easier to find, but until the actual official announcement from Hyundai, is there really that much that would be search worthy?
