This topic is for the PIP-5048MK inverter (also called the Axpert King 5K).
Other model numbers:
-
Mecer (rhymes with "spacer") SOL-I-AX-5KP
Kodak OG-Plus 5.48 (Kodak OG+ 5.48)
There are other topics for the
PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters (also called the Axpert MKS 5K), and for the
PIP-5048GE/GK/MG/MGX inverters (also called the Axpert VM II 5000-48, Axpert VM III 5000-48, Axpert MKS II 5K and Axpert MKS III 5K), and for
PIP inverter repairs and hardware modifications, and for the
Voltronic InfiniSolar inverters.

Coulomb and Weber's patched firmware:-
Unless otherwise noted, all versions will come in two flavours:
-
LF1 for lithium ferrous phosphate = LiFePO₄ = LFP, and
LC1 for lead acid and other chemistries.
For beta versions, those flavours are designated BF1 and BC1.
The difference between the two flavours
Superseded 71.97a (main) and 02.66a (display) patched firmware for PIP-5048MK and Axpert King (not King II). Fixes only the premature float bugs.
Superseded 02.81a (display) lightly patched firmware, which passes through BTA and PSAVE instructions without needing to use ATE1/ATE0.
The latest 72.00a (main) and 02.83a (display) patched firmware for PIP-5048MK and Axpert King (not King II). It does what all previous versions have done, and it has Dynamic Charge and Load Control (DC&LC), AussieView™ and KettleKomp™. -
LF1 for lithium ferrous phosphate = LiFePO₄ = LFP, and
Reflashing via a USB stick and OTG (On The Go) USB cable. Suorama's notes on how he installed firmware.
Factory firmware:-
Obsolete factory main (DSP, U1) firmware version 71.86. MCU firmware version 02.00 (below) should be installed immediately after updating.
Obsolete factory display/MCU/BMU firmware version 02.00.
Factory main firmware version 71.92 for PIP-5048MK / Axpert King 5K-48. In conjunction with removable display firmware 02.49, it supports several lithium batteries with BMS.- Factory main firmware version 71.93, which features "No AC force charging". This appears to be a version designed to address one customer's specific problem, so it's not clear whether this is suitable for general use.
Factory main firmware version 71.95 for PIP-5048MK / Axpert King 5K-48.
Factory removable display firmware version 02.61 for PIP-MK/King and PIP-GK/VM III
Factory firmware for Axpert King II version 50.02 (Feb 2022 version), said to fix solar charging in ECO mode. Do NOT use for Axpert King I (with 145 V max PV). Note that there is another firmware for Axpert King II with the same version number, but dsp.hex is stamped November 2021, and does not contain these fixes.

Unless otherwise noted, all versions will come in two flavours:
Commands
-
Commands QED, QEM, QEY, QET, QLD, QLM, QLY, and QLT for querying the PV and load energy per day, month, year, and grand total.
The Bypass Function Setting 23.
The ATE1 Command for bypassing the display to send lesser used commands. Confirmed to work on an Axpert VM4 5600-48.

- This post has a different pinout to the first. This post agrees with the one at left. These seem to be correct for the latest Pylontech batteries.
Bypassing the removable display to access special commands, or if main firmware updating fails part way.
Early Rack Mounted Axpert Kings came with a communications board that could only communicate with the BMS of Pylontech lithium batteries. It is possible that other models could also need updating for other brands of lithium batteries.

Finally I start that projekt. Old ones is removed and new ones is installed to wall. Battery is installed permanent way (before I make battery investment) and PV side is almost ok. Only one needs better cable soon. AC input must do better and AC out must install. I need few components to AC side before I can manage it that way what I want =)
