Hi all,
I just wanted to share here that my dream came true yesterday.
We are now charging the Zoe off grid!
I found an inverter (MPP Solar PIP-5048MG) which does not need the grid or batteries, so I have a direct PV ->EV system.
I am using the granny atm in 10A mode.
Today I'll try 14A.
Future will be to build a smart/open evse to squeeze the max out of the sun and the panels!
I'll keep you posted.

I have wanted one of those for about 10 years ( but they do not exist I have been told). I ended up with a hybrid system instead.
There was nothing worse than running a generator on a very sunny day, with solar panels on the roof, but a mains blackout.

Re: Zoe off grid charging
I would really like to be able to run the 400 volts DC from my solar panels directly to the 350-400 volt DC battery in in my Leaf through the CHADEMO DC charge socket.

Yes, that is the same one!brunohill wrote: ↑Mon, 08 Oct 2018, 20:29www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9KCl8SAh5Y

They do exist, and I am also very impressed it just works!
Re: Zoe off grid charging
That would be very cool if that became possible. No idea how Chademo works and if you could build a smart EVSE using the DC from the panels directly...
