Wow.

So that's been an interesting day of answering emails...

AVASS were the company building the Brighsun electric bus in Melbourne. Sadly, the bus project fell through and they had 1.7 MWh worth of LFP batteries in need of a home. They very kindly contacted our association and offered us first dibs on the cells. They are too low C-rate for a vehicle, but perfect for a storage battery, so we divvied them up and made sure each branch got a fair allocation of battery packs.

Unsurprisingly, the 23 kWh battery packs were snaffled up very fast (only 1 left allocated to the ACT) but there are still a few 11 kWh battery packs left in Tas, Vic, Qld and NSW, and one in the ACT. I look forward to seeing them get built into some awesome projects here soon!

They are the sparsest of details. What I'd like to know is
* Terminal spacing (I'm hoping for 106 mm)
* Thread size for bolts (e.g. M8 or M10)

Any chance of those numbers? I'm more interested in the 220 Ah cells at this stage, but information for both would be really handy.
MG ZS EV 2021 April 2021. Nissan Leaf 2012 with new battery May 2019.
5650 W solar, 2xPIP-4048MS inverters, 16 kWh battery.
Patching PIP-4048/5048 inverter-chargers.
If you appreciate my work, you can buy me a coffee.

Makes me kinda sad to learn that an electric bus project has fallen through. I don't have any use of one of these batteries, but I'm happy others do.

Yeah I was really bummed to hear about that too. Would have much preferred an Australian company to build E-buses than a bunch of storage batteries, but if there is a silver lining, it's that the EV community got to make use of the remaining cells.

Should point out that there are still some 11 kWh battery packs available over east:
(Updated 9:48 am WST 24/06/2018)

ACT 0
NSW 0
QLD 0
SA/NT 0
TAS 0
VIC 0
WA 0

WA filled its allocation within about 3 hours!

They are very light for LFP. I can see why they were going to use them in buses.
I could make a 10kWh 'generator'. Plug it into the 240V to charge up, then it provides 240V output. Use it as a range extender for the Brumby (charger on while driving), and as an AC coupled home storage battery. The battery would only weigh 75kg - so perhaps not much more than 100kg with a suitable box, inverter etc.

Will some cells be left over to replace any that fail?

I'm not sure that the specifications are correct for the 220Ah version - they are exactly the same as the 460Ah version except for the weight. Even lists the capacity as 460Ah!

No, hang on, I'm wrong.
The dimensions are not the same, the 460Ah one is taller - as per the photos above and as per the specs if I read them properly.

All the cells have been allocated to each branch - none remain. Thanks to everyone - you will be getting an email with payment and shipping details early next week.
Cheers,
