Re: i-MiEV Range *no discussion*
47925 km
Battery Capacity 34.6Ah
battery condition 72.08 PMC
cell volt difference 0.005 to 0.01 V
Sad update on my car's battery:
Checked with CaniOn:
the last full charge was only 99 RR and 95% SoC (at about 4 hours after full charge ,see note below).I left the car parked for another 24 hours without having driven it. RR dropped to 87 and SoC 84.5%
That is a huge drop !
Data from EVpos app:
47925 km
Battery Capacity 34.6Ah
battery condition 72.08 PMC
SOC real 97% about 4 hours after stopped charging ,charger was on for more than 2 hours after charger stopped being full.
cell volt difference 0.00? ( I have a PLC monitoring charge current and times as well as KWh drawn from power point.)
Cell V max 4.08
Cell V min 4.08
Pack V 359
Battery Capacity 34.6Ah unchanged
battery condition 72.08 PMC unchanged
SOC real 82%
cell volt difference 0.02
Cell V max 4.06
Cell V min 4.04
Pack V 357 2 V drop in pack V in 24 hours lost 15% SOC . What is wrong with my battery?
Maybe this should be in the other thread?

Could it be that your 12v battery is faulty so it is constantly being charged by the traction battery?nuggetgalore wrote: ↑Thu, 01 Feb 2018, 09:15 in 24 hours lost 15% SOC . What is wrong with my battery?

The 12v doesn't get charged by the traction battery when the imiev is turned off, it just goes flat and won't start it.

One factor I have not included is the drop in ambient temperature.zzcoopej wrote: ↑Thu, 01 Feb 2018, 11:43Could it be that your 12v battery is faulty so it is constantly being charged by the traction battery?nuggetgalore wrote: ↑Thu, 01 Feb 2018, 09:15 in 24 hours lost 15% SOC . Our 2012 imievs batterys are sitting at about 9C temp and cannion reading is showing 34ah capacity.
2018 summer RR was showing around 100 - 134km max dead of winter now we are showing 90 - 110km. real world range is a bit over 100km in summer a tad under in winter.

Yes, the North American i Miev is larger. here are a few photos I took in Japan and the USA. [image=]https://www.flickr.com/photos/8464043@N ... ateposted/[/image]g4qber wrote: ↑Thu, 25 Jul 2013, 01:40 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_i-MiEV
interesting to note the US EPA cycle
"160 km (99 mi) (Japanese cycle)
100 km (62 mi) (US EPA cycle)

In the US, my range is around 80 miles or 128 Km in normal driving, but if I take it real slow at 25 to 30 miles per hour, I have seen a range of over 100 miles, 160 Km.
Re: i-MiEV Range *no discussion*
I am just about getting my 80km with very careful driving too and from work, now nearly 70,000km on the clock and wondering if I am going to manage the 100,000km range advertised..

2013 Imiev, just got it. Range is between 60 and 80 from a full charge. I haven't actually managed 80km personally.

Re: i-MiEV Range *no discussion*
Managed to get an original Mitsubishi demo vehicle (for our organisation) - as follows:
2010 model (VIN 01/10) 18,000kms (picked up at 16,500)
Battery Capacity 42.5Ah
Condition 85.00 PMC (assuming 50Ah from factory)
Cell voltage variation 0.005 to 0.02V
I think it has a range of 120km (based on driving 90kms with about 35% left).
Forgotten what a hoot it was to drive (I was involved in the original accessories development and launch).

Are you saying this 2010 (iMiEV) has still 42 Ah capacity in 2020? Interesting.DougGlover wrote: ↑Wed, 11 Mar 2020, 07:05 Managed to get an original Mitsubishi demo vehicle (for our organisation) - as follows:

That would counter my theory of age as a factor for deterioration as much as charging cycles.
Mine is down to 32.5 at 60kkm.

I agree, sounds too good to be true TBH.
re Doug, I'm interested in the accessories, do you mean iMiEV accessories, as I didn't know there were any?

Re: i-MiEV Range *no discussion*
Pretty sure this would be the original battery - not used much - picked it up with 16,500 km and now only just over 18,000km (and probably rarely on fast-charge) - airport and demo life.....
The accessories I worked on were the Sat-Nav and radio for the vehicle (they were good at the time!) as well as the immobiliser. The towbar; nudgebar and driving lights were canned
After overnight charge, display today indicated starting range of 160km.

Ah yes, forgot the sat-nav was specific to the few original Aussie iMiEV. I was surprised when they dropped that sat-nav and keyless for the subsequent model, big step backwards.DougGlover wrote: ↑Thu, 12 Mar 2020, 11:35 The accessories I worked on were the Sat-Nav and radio for the vehicle (they were good at the time!) as well as the immobiliser.
Why was the reversing camera feature of the sat-nav not utilised?

Well,in that case you got yourself a real bargain.DougGlover wrote: ↑Thu, 12 Mar 2020, 11:35 Pretty sure this would be the original battery - not used much - picked it up with 16,500 km and now only just over 18,000km (and probably rarely on fast-charge) - airport and demo life.....

Today was ideal(temperature wise) to run my little piggy to turtle. 2010 model with inbuilt Sat Nav and remote lock (key less start).
Fully charged guessometer showed 85km.
I made couple of local trips and had ~5 km left in the tank
getting home.Jettisoned my better half and drove around the block.
At 79.5 km it showed zero and about half a km later the turtle lit up. Home again at KM 82
Took schreenshot of EvBatMon data:Batt cap 32.4Ah; Batt cond 67.5.71%; bat SoC2.7Ah; Bat V 319.7
MaxV cell #38 3.71; MinVcell#19 3.52 (that has me worried, 0.19V !!!)
Cheers

Re: i-MiEV Range *no discussion*
Excellent question - on all the other vehicles I developed kits for, we included the camera. In the end it was decided the vehicle has great visibility (and size is its friend) - combined with reducing the risk of damage in removing the trim and locating the camera in the tailgate (the installation process would have been significantly increased).
If this was my vehicle (and not the companies) this is one of the first jobs I would do (along with adding rear speakers and improving front) - the AVN is a cracker of an audio system (if old in navigation).

It might be small but it's quite tall, a rear camera would still be handy to see close behind. And fiddling with the cable routing is the reason I never got around to adding one.

I am working on a solution to allow for higher capacity batteries and I need to decided at what voltage to go into turtle mode.nuggetgalore wrote: ↑Thu, 12 Mar 2020, 18:38 Jettisoned my better half and drove around the block.

It seems 3.5v for empty is a bit high.
I would have thought empty would be around 3 to 3.2v.
