welcome scuzzi, Image

Best of zero emissions and electrons flowing to you.

AEVA is an electric vehicle association, so you qualify !
Planes, trains, boats, cars bikes as long as they are electric. (OK hybrids too)

Tell us more about your paddlewheeler project ?

well like u blokes the vision of e-vehicles is very clear to me,

i personally like the e-boats as an alternative way to ICEing up our rivers and find that very exciting

I live on a lake that everyone thinks is a mudhole, its very shallow but teems with bird and wildlife, under electric power the lake is a good size, etc etc etc

I spose like u guys most of my stuff is recycled somethin, and the Queen is no different, shes an old shallow draft houseboat we use to go round pickin up the rubbish of 50 years.

Anyway, we are setting her up for refit, shes 12 X 4 m

She will self generate from a combo of vertical wind turbines, solar panels and hydro regen from the river current via the paddles.

at the moment she maintains only her own house power 12v and she gets around on a dying 2 stroke o/b that i cringe every time i start.

, we have been collecting bits n pieces as we go but are determined to be able to recharge e-v's from her ;)

anyway, the idea is to give tours of the lake and promote the hell outa ev's from the queen, runnin live webcams n takin nature tours .

so we have designed an old paddle wheeler conversion for her and am workin on that and fundin, guess u all know that story, lol.

Id tell ya more but then id have to short u out.

;)

Hi Rob
quite a collection you have. I am very keen to hear more about the triton and how the performance is with that awsome battery pack.
How much are those batteries each?
I was certain about getting Lithium but have read some pretty negative info on wiki. Do you have any comments on lithium from experience and how long have you been running on lithium?
Cheers

Ron,
You need to use 'post reply' and select the icon for image upload from tool bar.
Remember to compress the pic first to less than 70k. (web page size)

Here's one for you... my not quite solar powered suzi EV
Image

You'll know if your have it right by doing a 'preview post'. The pic should show there.

If you have any trouble then email the pics as attachments to info@aeva.asn.au (even if not compressed) and webmaster will put them up.

Hey scuzzi,

That is one neat rig.   Image
The stuff holiday dreams are made of !

Yes suzi is still 4WD high and low ratio www.evalbum.com/1149

The solar panel is only on the bonnet (5W) so shade is OK ! Image
I only fitted it to make Louis Palmer (solartaxi) feel at home when he was in Perth and went for a drive in red suzi.

Nah, built the model in secondlife in the ABC sandbox, theres a url if u want to go have a look at it in its "latest draft" form on SL.

Image

as I bought her

Image

shes a fair lump and old as Methusala himself, in fact i think theres a dinosour bite mark on the side

http://scuzzi.bigblog.com.au/data/5/283 ... 0647_m.jpg

shes been ploddin along on an old ICE outboard but its times up.

Refit comin up ;) just getting Govt approvals n stuff atm.

32 foot x 10 foot she is at the waterline about 37' x 14 with the new walkways atm.

7 tonne the trucky said it weighed...

Has anyone done a reasonable size outboard conversion yet, ive seen small ones equating to about 6hp ice outboards using the eteck motors, the briggs n stratons and the torqueedo's are the pick of em but they just not enough to push her if the wind is unfavourable.

Ron.

Ive got a gut feelin this is gunna take a while and the steering etc is all set up for an o/b so it will serve as an interim measure

Vehicles Name Daihatsu Charade 1991 5door G102.
Country Australia

Postcode 2614
Vehicle Details Retaining back seat, plan to use Impulse 9 with 45x90Ah thundersky battery, splitting the battery pack seems unavoidable if I retain some luggage space.

I think this is a great idea and will encourage all the people I know in the Canberra area to get themselves a pin stuck into the map!

I noticed that WA has 8 vehicles and only 6 pins. Obviously someone has more than 1 vehicle. Reading through the thread I see that it is RobM. Does he have 3 pins stuck in the same hole? How can I see them?

Here are my entries:

Your Name - Dave Micklethwaite
Vehicles Name - Pooh Mobile
Country - Australia
State - NSW
Postcode - 2621
Vehicle Details Ride on mower and paddock vacuum cleaner
Stage - Ride on is almost done but experimental
      - Vacuum cleaner is still at planning stage.
Blog (work in progress) - http://daves-mower.blogspot.com/

Your Name - Dave Micklethwaite
Vehicles Name - Not christened yet!
Country - Australia
State - NSW
Postcode - 2621
Vehicle Details - 1988 Isuzu ute
Stage - Planning and conversion started
Motor - 11" DC ex forklift
Controller - Zilla 1K LV (when it arrives)
Batteries - 144V (24 x 6V) lead acid

Like the ride on mower this ISUZU is a learning exercise. It's a 4x4 which I would not have chosen but it was free! At the moment I intend to continue with it but the front axle and diff foul the 11" motor and I am uncertain about removing them. If it looks like the solution to this will cost money I have to decide whether to look for another ute.

That's it,
       Dave.

I know what you mean! I haven't even bought the donor car for my own conversion, and I'm already thinking about doing a conversion for my wife! She likes the old (90s) Celicas, so I've been thinking about a direct drive AC conversion for one of those...

Brumby first, though! :p
I'll drive an electric vehicle one day.
