Mg zs ev charging

Post by Elmm »

Hello everyone, i recently took a mg ezs for a test drive and liked it more than i expected, the sales rep couldn't answer all my questions but the main ones ,for those who already own one , are you able set the charge to stop at 80% or 90% to help with long term battery degradation
and how are you guys going with real life range,
I live in Sydney i think the car will be perfect for short and medium trips.

hey mate, I dont have one but have been researching pretty thoroughly, its a great car for the price and i'm saving up for one.

The MG ZS EV has been out in the UK for a while and their forums are a great source of knowledge. (a lot more emphasis on cold weather driving though!)

My understanding is you can't set the charge to only 80%. People have gotten around it with a bit of maths and a mechanical timer on their chargers.
not such a great solution, but a solution nonetheless.

Would be great if they updated the car's software to add this ability.
MG have issued at least 2(could be 3) software updates so it's not out of the question.

I've posted a link to the UK MG ZS EV forum discussing battery degredation below!

When I was wanting to time the charging of an EV, I never found a timer that could handle more than 10 amps and I'm thinking that all your modern EV's would be wanting more than 10 amps. So has anyone found a timer for charging that will handle more than 10 amps? :) If not, keep this in mind :)

Cleaner watt (on YouTube) reports Elon Musk advising that Superchargers are to be made available to all vehicles which can take the DC charge level. Apparently Rivian aren’t interested cos they are establishing theirs in ‘frontier’ countryside .....nor is Lucid it seems.
Let’s hope the AC destination ones are enabled also.
