I suspect this is not just the electric version of the Kona. Should you hear it see Hyundai. It is a clunking/snapping back type of sound. https://insideevsforum.com/community/in ... post-73069

There has been bad clunking in some early build Kona Electrics, but I haven't seen it mentioned with any RHD cars worldwide. Sounds like driveshaft binding.

Other issues have been rear caliper knock on reversing. I get that on mine but it's quite random any only when it's been sitting stationary. My partner's new i30 does it as well and they appear to have exactly the same calipers and EPB mech.

I do have some electronic noise that appears to come from the inverter at low speed accel and regen. Not bothered but will keep an eye on international forums if Hyundai come up with a fix.

But I jump in, turn on, look at the range.....and SMILE.... :-)

Thank you all for your interesting little tidbits of information around 'issues' :) Very useful.

I've just added: I don't think we need 'good' ev car brands vs 'bad' ev car brands or 'my car brand is better than your car brand' stuff anymore.

All we need to know is which cars are doing what, and if it is common.

It’s about issues and collaboration. These are great cars and we have choice so we can find the right horse that we riders can take on our course. Great share of experience there Richard! Thanks
