I note a story at
https://reneweconomy.com.au/electric-ve ... qld-86346/ dated June 2017 "And according the the AEVA, the program won’t just stop at the WA border – the Association has also teamed up with the Tesla Owners Club of Australia (TOCA) nationally to ensure a series of EV charge points stretch right around the country, with the route expected to be complete before the end of the year." What is the state of play ?

Check out
www.plugshare.com and look at the route around the country. If you click on a charger it will usually mention if it was an AEVA socket or not.

Happy days !!!!! I wouldn't have thought of looking that far in the sticks.
Thanks anyway, but I seriously doubt that I'll be taking my Minicab to Cloncurry.

well the idea behind the AEVA/TOCA sockets was to fill in the gaps and allow people to circumnavigate the country - which is why most of them are "in the sticks"
The WA Branch of AEVA got sponsorship from our local power retailer (Synergy) to extend that by creating a grid of 100km between sockets (where possible!)
