And the point is....

1. You dont know.
2. They are converting sunlight into petrol on site.
3. Google have updated images of BP.
4. You only just realised BP solar exists.
5. You think they are hording electricity for when supply is low.
6. They have the power but no charge points just to rub it in ev owners.
7. You want to steal them.
8. BP paid you to start a thread implying they are greener than they are.
9. There is enough solar on BP to make every ICE carbon neutral

the cockburn station only put their panels up Dec 2014
Other BP stations have had their panels for a few years.
Especially Karrinyup

somehow seems that there may be more stations that will have solar installed?
not with BP panels of course.

Oh yeah seems they shut up shop in 2011.
I always liked that rumor about BP solar's companys' policy of damaged panels is to smash all the cells so they cannot be reused.

So that counts out option 4. Image

I dunno I vaguely recall some BP petrol stations having solar like 10+ years ago.
That was before any mainstream ev revolution.
So I doubt it's there for future charging of ev's just standard building designs from like 20 years ago...

So at this early stage I'm going with option 7 - he wants to steal them Image
Or 8 on the outside chance he works at BP and gets paid kickbacks.

Maybe they're getting ready to put up electric perimeter fences to keep the riff-raff out for when petrol prices rise to levels only the well to do can afford. Image

You should have deleted this thread since it doesn't pertain to ev's, charging or batteries and there appears to be no point of topic of discussion raised by the author.

Finally!!
Over a week later and we get given the correlation between BP and ev's for this thread.
Pilot ev charging in US and Nertherlands from 4 years ago.

I would have opened with that Image

Surely that study would have finished by now and results published somewhere?

Went to Conservation Council WA talk last week in Fremantle
Ant, MDK, Reecho present.

Sunpower was there
seems that they have been installing their cells on BP stations.
They cells can be cracked, but still provide power.
Other cells shatter.
They go for quality.
They provided cells for the Perth Zoo.
http://www.wa.liberal.org.au/article/zo ... ar-pv-site

latest station I've spotted is Attadale BP, opposite Melville Holden.

The electricity is used to power the station.
Perhaps in the near future, the owners will be far sighted enough to have EV charge spots.
This is what they do in the Netherlands & Japan.
EV charging coexist with liquid fuel for now.
Better than nothing.

Changed title to include "bpp" as new forum needs 3 characters <6 Nov>
