Hobart Conversion SIG

Post by 4Springs »

At the National AGM it was resolved to restrict each state to one branch only, but to allow as many other "groups" as desired. For example a regional group, or a special interest group. Well the Tasmanian branch has just spawned our first group - the Hobart Conversions SIG!
This group will concentrate on converting vehicles to electric within the Hobart area. The first meeting was on the 6th of January with 20 people attending. Minutes are here:20160106_Meeting_Minutes.pdf

Is this the first of these groups in Australia? Is there any precedent to follow?
Some discussion was given over to how to create a local information resource. Would it be appropriate to give them their own section of the AEVA website? Can sub-sections be made under the state sections?

I've just made an entry on the Tasmania section of the AEVA web page: http://www.aeva.asn.au/content/hobart-conversion-sig
The irritating thing is that this entry pushes down the other things on the page. Would be great if we could put the Hobart SIG in the menu somehow. Take note those people on the website working group!

We had our last State meeting in Launceston, and it looks like there might be enough interest to form a Launceston based conversions group as well. Not counting chickens yet, but we seem to have some good eggs.
