Launch of the Tas branch

Post by 4Springs » Sun, 16 Aug 2015, 14:19

We held our official launch yesterday and it was a great success!

We filled our theatre at the State Cinema (120 seats). Our branch chair Penny Cocker did a great job as MC.
The Minister for State Growth Matthew Groom, RACT's Darren Moody and TasNetworks CEO Lance Balcombe all gave addresses. Then our treasurer Clive Attwater gave a compelling presentation on the case for a statewide electric highway.
Following the presentations was a spirited Q&A session with four EV owners.

Outside we managed to find room for five EVs/hybrids and the RACT EV charge trailer.

We had many enquiries about membership so hopefully our branch will grow even further. Congratulations on the organisers for a great event!

And from the back. The glass section is where you have your coffee afterwards.

The RACT EV charge trailer. Darren said that it has been around for a few years, it helped out after the Dunalley bushfires. Hopefully one day it will be used for its intended purpose!

Anyone else have any photos to share?

Thanks for the wrapup 4Springs!

I put up a lot of them on twitter - I won't repost them all here, but you can see them using this link: https://twitter.com/search?f=images&ver ... s&src=typd (you don't need a twitter account to view them)

Unfortunately the angle of the sun at that time of day and the orientation of the cars didn't make for great lighting for the photos. But oh well :)

Thanks for that reecho!

We were also on Southern Cross and WIN News, but can't find copies online. I recorded them off the screen on my phone but the quality is so bad I don't want to distribute it! :P

(BTW that is me at 0:16 on that ABC clip!)

The trailer had an SA or WA registration, I think - if that helps!
