I've been pestering every BMW rep I've met about the EV Minis I saw in magazines years ago, but have always been told they were only a testbed for the i3.

Ah, so the "news" I read was misleading. Good to know.
A bit bummed that the model (render?) in that article takes the car even further from the classic Mini look and makes it more like any other hatchback. But then I drive an iMiev now so I can't be accused of caring much about how a car looks on the outside...!
