OK, well it doesn't take much for me to get distracted.
I just got off the phone to Nick at e.v.engineering.
I asked what had happened to the cars and he said "they are just outside my office, just sitting there".
Nick was very pleasant and helpful and the bottom line is this:
There are 7 cars - complete with battery packs.
Yes they would be for sale - they would be interested in getting rid of "some" of them (not sure what that meant), BUT....
They are a company so it is difficult to sell them to individuals because they should provide some warranty etc. and they do not want to.
Initially Nick indicated that an engineering workshop would be the only type of purchaser but he later agreed that an engineer - someone who would not require any backup - could probably buy them.
Apparently the project had lots of secrecy about IP involved - I gather mainly about the CAN Bus protocols.
Nick also mentioned that they have "parts" for sale. Inverters and the like.
I did not try to get prices.
So, if anyone is interested look up e.v.engineering and call the phone number - more than likely Nick will answer.

Looked so promising, shame the GFC killed it.
Was great to rewatch the youtubes again too.
Does anyone know what the range and battery specifics were?

I would like a awd adventurer wagon.
Twin motors front rear.
We all know by now it is possible.
Why can't they lease them all out.
Testing cells... Drive... Transmission. ... Etc.. Is important.
A uni or tafe like kangan could take them all.
What is the spec?

Hmm.... the 140km realistic range is a killer, without the fast battery change it's dead in the water but even with it, 140km fuel stops? Guess I'll have to keep saving my lunch money till I can afford a Tesla.

Apparently Tritium did the BMS for these cars. Some of the cars have 3 phase charging with Mennekes (yep bloody Mennekes..!!) and what looks like 3 x Brusa chargers under the rear shelf.
It would be great to see these with dedicated owners and not lost.
I think they could be convinced to sell to enthusiasts within the EV community. The question will be how much. Pretty sure they are all VE series II Calais base specification.

considering the price new as a 2012 was to be $50,000, they are now 2 yrs old no matter if the kms are very few. The equivalent V6 series Calais is now around the $30,000 mark with low kms, this as an example http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/detai ... 290/?Cr=11 so..... I know it's one of those very rare vehicles and all that goes with that to a collector, but it also has no factory back up or warranty and no idea if it comes with the home charger mentioned or how you charge it away from home.
