Is the i-MiEV rear engined?

There is some stuff in the paper today about a rear - engine car show in Fremantle on Monday.

Anyone know if the i-MiEV would count as rear engined? seems to be right on the edge between rear or mid engined.

No engine at all........

But yes motor is in the rear......Like all good sports cars...

As far as I could make out, rear engined is defined as having the motor behind the axle, mid engined is between the axles, and the imiev motor is directly over the rear axle, but I could be wrong, just searching the web rather than actually having a look at the car.

If you follow mikeduftie's definition it is mid engined.

Have a look to the car:

The motor itself is in front of the axle, the gearbox or better the differential is directly in line with the axle.

Sounds like we wouldn't be welcome at the rear engined car day then. Have to wait for next weekend in Fremantle (AEVA AGM).
