Hey guys,
Been lurking the forums for a while but decided to join and post now that I have an Outlander PHEV.
Wanted to share my solution for frequent outdoor charging... I do lot of local commuting and have managed 700kms exclusively in EV mode, I've had the car for a week now.
Due to the garage being full of the in-laws stuff while they are living with us I'm forced to charge in the drive way in Melbourne's inner west.
After installing a weatherproofed 15A point, I mounted the charger on some "L-Shaped" hooks. When not in use I wanted to also store the cable as neatly as possible hence the cable hook. Next the charger I have a dyna bolted wall plate and shackle so I can run the charge lead through a heavy duty combo lock - mainly as a deterrent in case it were to go walkabout.
This area as you can see is right next to my entry door and is generally shielded from direct weather and take me no time to detach.
Next step is to ad some UV protection (maybe some flexible conduit) the charge lead but I'm monitoring as I go along.
