I'd rather have a Telsla P85D than an iMiEV! Either there is a serious cost saving by dropping the fast charge, or there is some other reason for dropping it.
I've worked for a company (Infomedia) which handle electronic spare parts catalogs and decoding the VIN to get all the product options you soon realise how many permutations & combinations of cars are out there worldwide. Car manufacturers are a bit OCD over all this, plus compliance complications to release in certain countries. Someone should release a car with no options, white is fine! I'm sure it would save money, but would people buy it?

2 reasons why the CHAdeMo has been deleted by MMAU.

1) Cost saving
2) Lack of charging stations

I wonder if its more than just the plug+cable that they drop? Is there a "high speed charge cooling system" in the PHEV (like redirecting the aircon that the iMiEV has) which could go if the Chademo goes?

To any PHEV owners out there who are interested in the internal workings of their car, I am developing an Android App which taps into the PHEV to reveal info like the current battery capacity, voltage of each of the 80 cells in the battery, torque from each of the motors etc.
I'm almost at beta test stage, so if you have an OBD2 adapter or are willing to buy one, send me a message and I will let you know about the Beta.
