The Motenergy ME1302 and ME1304 were brought up as a possible option for a motorbike conversion.
The specs listed seemed a bit unbelievable

The unbelievable bit being the 62kW from 16.8kg Brushless motor.
I contacted a number of people regarding these motors.
So the low down is:
1. It is electrically they same as the non-water cooled versions
    ie ME1302=ME1115=DLC28 and ME1304=ME1114=DLC20
2. The manufacturer has not tested these motors to "peak" values
3. ASMO karts "may" have tested them but are not responding to queries regarding this.

So in light of this have a quick look at the specs.
The ME1302/ME1115 has a Torque constant of 0.15Nm/A.
So to achive ASMO's spec of 108Nm it would require 720A!
This is 720A to the motor - you need more going into the controller.
So this to me is the "unbelievable" bit.

On top of this the manufacturer only claims closer to 420A peak (1min).
But I suspect this is the non-water cooled spec.
Even so I doubt water cooling would double the Peak torque/Peak power.
Water cooling generally improves the continuous rating not the peak.

That aside lets assume the 108Nm is possible what is needed to get 62kW?
It's about 5,500RPM.
Once again this exceeds the manufacturers spec of 5,000RPM.
Asmo karts claim a maximum of 6,500 RPM. (30% higher!)
It's assumed to get this they are using 120V+

To me it reminds me of the old PMPO ratings - good for 1 micro second. Image

I haven't found anywhere/anyone yet that can back up these claims of 52kW and 62kW.

They look like a good motor but more like 30-40kW peak.
