Well.....I didn't get the Tarago....but we now have a family van that we both like.

Also, I have swapped the wheels over in prep for selling the 2010.

New beast is a T4 VW Transporter LWB with the Syncro AWD system which is AMAZING on our gravel roads....
Professionally converted into a 10 seat minibus.

One day the 2.5 litre 5 cylinder will die, and while I will miss the exhaust note of five cylinders through a tweaked exhaust, which sounds amazing, I will at that point electrify it.

Might even have a sale for the 2010 as well....keeping it in the family if all goes well.

What range have you been getting with the 2010?

Have you had any stone chips on the windscreen?

No stone chips.....for either of us.
Couple in the front bumper paint, but windscreens are pristine.


Longest trip I have done in the 2010 was 117km.
That was getting quite low....
I work on a range of 100km and I never run out.

Normally after a charge at home the guessometer shows 92, but there are hills where I live....
I can eke out a trip to Hobart and back on half a charge, or i can enjoy the hills and twisty roads with heater on and barely make it there and back.....

My wife's 2012 routinely shows over 110 on the guessometer, and she isn't as good at Eco driving as I am....she gets further in hers than I can in mine.
The controller in the Mk2 is definitely a step up in the Mk 1....

B on mine gives similar regen to D in hers....and if you touch the brakes on hers it maxes the regen which mine doesn't.
C on hers is similar to D on mine.
I have the stupid useless Eco setting which dulls throttle response and she has B which gives powerful regen.

Swapping to Continental 155s on hers made a huge difference...so much better turn in and stability.
Was planning them on mine but I will be selling it with original tyres on.

Half thinking of swapping the headlights.....2010 has LED ones which are amazing and kick hell out of the latter ones....

Well....we have decided to sell her 2012...the finance on the 2010 has steep early exit fees and we would need to find around $3k to sell it....hers we can sell.

Yes....was almost home and it was on 999 so I went around the block and pulled up outside the house and took the photo before plugging in....

Hit 38,000 today in the beast!
Still running well.
We finally sold the damaged 2012 as well, to a local who is going to fix it, and already has a Zero motorbike.

Sadly, I need another new front bumper.....they don't like wallaby strikes, and there are literally thousands of the buggers around here so it was a matter of time before another one got hit.

Sold the 2010...almost cried but it's going to a lovely couple who are perfect for ev.
Did almost 45,000km in it over 2 years and 3 months.
Now i can start planning a conversion!

Having recently moved house we were in a position where it took more than half a charge to get to town so plugging in was non optional.
Also most of our kilometres are done in grew work ute so a better return on investment will come from having an electric Worrell vehicle and a cheap economical petrol runabout for going to the shops...

Planning is now at concept state where i am researching different donor vehicles with weights and gvm and other info.
