Yep I've had the same trouble.
I have been quoted "simple" CNC parts more than the cost of the Motor it attaches to.
I think all the companies around here are to accustom to charging at "mining" rates.

I'll Probably end up down the same path.
Either build my own CNC or find one that fell of the back of an eV Image

google sketchup 7 to draw in 2D but i can draw in 3D with it (i normally make a 3D item off to one side to get an idea of fit) and them i use an add on called SketchUcam that generates the code and Mach3 on my MillImageImage

so what is making it tilt? you hanging off the side of it?

i think my way may be simpler and better and it will use coil-overs for the suspension AND the tilt and what should be a easier mounting for the motor/diff

I'm not a bike person, so apologies if this is a stupid suggestion, but what about making the front half pivot around the rear frame? You could then control tilt (pivot) with a separate mechanism to that used for the rear suspension.

it would seem my idea is a lot simpler than what your planing

its a design i though up about 15 years ago (maby more) and i was going to use it on a reverse trike if i could ever afford to build one (carnt see it happening now tho)

Appreciate the pictures, makes it quite clear what you have in mind.

My thought process was a little different, in that you could build a second frame which the front half and seat of the trike attaches to. This front frame would pivot around the rear frame (effectively the green frame in your picture minus the front wheel / suspension setup and seat) - think along the lines of a floating cab design in trucks. This would allow the tilt of the trike to be independant to any movement in the rear suspension.

With your current design, if the rider is at full tilt and the inside wheel hits a bump, the bump wont be absorbed as the rear suspension components (white strut in your diagram) are already fully compressed. This would result in a direction change of the trike.
