Im pretty sure with those size rims you will get oodles of torque
at low rpm flipping will be a formality, i think 50-6okm might be a lil optimistic though with those isn't it? have you calculated the speed on paper?

With the high up seated position width etc i think wind resistance will be greater than your average 'two wheeler' my monies on 40-45km/hris BUT it will climb the side of a house with ease! Guess we will all have to wait and see anywayz ... whats the estimated time frame for completiion OR at least forst 'test runs'

if:Carv'n Marv'n wrote: another question....
Would it be feasable to use a step-up DC-DC converter - switched, so I could hit the "Turbo" button, and send 72V to the controllers, switched off would run 48V...
would it work?? what would it mean for the batteries?? Range would obviously be killed for speed??
...in this case, I would need to ditch the 48-12V DC-DC running my lights, in favour of a 12V battery pack.
a) your controller handles both 72V and 48V; AND
b) the 48V is what is limiting your speed; AND
c) the battery power output isn't going to limit your speed;
then:
it will help.
But, probably easier if you have a controller which takes 72V is to give it 72V in the first place. If you have say 24 Headways 38120S, your peak power output is going to be 6kW anyway, whether you have 72V10Ah or 36V20Ah.
cheers,
Woody

...sorry.
looking at taking this project to the next level... and there is a lot of money involved in doing so. It would be a shame to blow my chances by "bragging". Will need to keep a low profile, and not divulge information to the masses.
..not far off now riding my bike - but I bet you beat me too it with your choppa. This last part seems to be dragging.

Well, this was the most annoying thread I've ever (not?) read, and I've been to 4chan.
I'd like these two minutes of my life back.
