Was it common knowledge that "sports" car makers are "enhancing" the engine noise inside the cabin. BMW, VW, Ford US, Porsche + Lexus are mentioned - the Lexus one has a volume knob!
The Porsche one seems the most legitimate (the induction pipe is connected to a diaphragm to the car interior when sports mode is activated).
I have a soundracer which works quite well in many cars.

Hi Richard,
I got mine ages ago at around $US150 including postage from Sweden.
Mine is the basic model without the amp - so I added a separate amp and placed a weatherproof speaker under the car - where the exhaust box used to be!
You can put your own sounds into the unit, they supply software to do this.
