Link to the Mercury article for those who are interested.

Note, the link is via Google as the direct link to the article says it's for subscribers only. Not sure why this way works, but it does...

Yes, while it wouldn't be able to carry as much mail or parcels it would be a lot more fun to ride and more practical. Having said that it's hard to beat the simplicity and most importantly the maneuverability of a motorcycle.

Considering a lot of streets don't have foot paths and a lot of homes don't place the letterbox in a convenient place. I can see the posty having to climb on and off this thing a lot while its parked out on the street. The bikes thay can nip about where ever they like. In some parts of Brisbane I could see them rolling over due to the hilly streets.

Good for larger packages though and better economy than a full size van.

Yes, what a laugh.

So they've started in Hobart because the other Capitals are flat?

I've delivered free newspapers on the north side where I could hardly walk up the steep uneven footpath.

I looked on with astonishment at two well-built ladies on those battery karts for the infirm going cross-country over totally unsuitable footpath terrain delivering free newspapers. I thought: I wonder how long their mobility things are going to last this way.

The only delusion I'm truly worried about is that I may really live in Hobart and not Brisbane.

Yes, I remembered his tilting trike when this thread first appeared and wondered what happened to it.

Anybody know?

As we go to the polls today in WA, it pays to remember how much our governments promise to "buy local" before the elections and slip back to old habits straight after!
