Good, Image

But don't hold you breath. It will still be 2010/2011 before YOU can buy one. Image

Penny, perhaps you were Wong to put the $70M bribe on Toyota. Seems Mitsubishi are honest about hybrids !

"The news comes as several European manufacturers, including BMW and VW, confirmed they were also getting ready to build electric production cars."

That's not a bad bit of news, either.

Clearly Misubishi should have got the 70 Mill. A total failure
from the goverment.
I assume there will be a huge demand for this MIEV.
A goverment rebate would have done the rest. Take off.
Waiting, waiting ..
I already mentioned the goverment rebate on this board some time
ago. What is AEVA doing to get a grant out of Green funds?
Did AEVA already apply for subsidies?
I still see standard goverment reply letters to inviduals on this board. They look the same as one year ago. Rebate for EV-conversion
is a must. What do we do??? Apply invidually?? Or can we get a
petition together for everybody to sign.
everything electric from solar

Mitsubishi will be leasing them, is that so they can reclaim them and shred them ala EV1?

I agree it's great to see Mitsubishi biting the bullet and actually planning to sell the MIEV here. A visionary Government would have done what it took to get Mitsubishi to build MIEVs in Adelaide (or somewhere in Australia) instead of paying Toyota to build more hybrids that at the end of the day are still dependent on fossil fuels.

I looked around the Mitsubishi website and found some info on the MIEV but no brochure yet. They have an "ask Robert" page where you can put a question to the Australian CEO of Mitsubishi. I used it to ask to be put on the waiting list for the MIEV and for them to send me a brochure as soon as one is available.

ATM, this is the best way I know of supporting a manufacturer that's planning to sell an EV in Australia.

Maybe if we all do it...

Cheers
