Good day out.
Light sprinkle just before the first race but then clear up for the entire event.

I think this guy was pulled over for speeding Image

I remember last year it was pretty wet.
I was one of Rod's team of drivers last year. He had a great car which could maintain 30kph around tight corners, even in the wet! Mad fun Image

Good to see you racing again Rod. How did you go? I didn't race this year due to the teacher's union industrial action, but I would be interested in hearing how the day went.

We entered a team from Margaret River called the River Raiders this year.
There were three of us, myself (drive train & electrics), Wayne Pragnell (body design) and Peter Fitchat (steering and suspension).
Three cars in all, the "Electric Chair", "Carbonnay" and "Hot Rod"

We did ok on the day. Will post the results on the EV Power website in due course.

Would like to get the local school interested next year perhaps.

Rod,
Great to see you did well this year. I was disappointed that I could not attend but I will be along next year to mix it up.

Just out of interest how many laps in class C did you end up completing with the LiFe batteries as it looked like you had great setup.

Regards Stuart Team rEVheads

There was an article in the paper on Saturday which stated the winning distance was 57 laps and fastest time of around a 51.5 second lap. From memory was that less than you ran in '07 Stu? Either way, congrats Rod. The paper didn't say whether that was the open or Yuasa class distance either.

Hope that helps. The paper article is at home so I may be out by a second or so on the time and it probably says which class did the 57 laps, but that's what I remember...

I don't recall the actual number of laps but they did not mention that we broke the lap record.
That sounds about right.

Great to hear from you Clay and Rod.

Well done again Rod on you efforts.

Did the committee give you any trouble over the batteries as that is my biggest concern for future events?

Anyway I am progressing my Rev2 design and hope to compete again next year and see you both there.

I checked on the NATSOFT site and there is no data posted there.

Rod if you send your contact details to stuartri@internode.on.net (I already have Clay's details) I am charting all previous race data and will send results through when complete.

I am hopeful that a group of us can set a higher design standard to ensure that race results keep improving.

Looks like I will have to pull a few rabbits out of the hat next year to keep competitive Rod -- well done.

Stuart
