eFXC Round 2 - Queensland Raceway!

Hey everyone, especially south-east Queenslanders!

The electric bikes will be heading back to Queensland Raceway, Willowbank this weekend for round two of the eFXC series. We'll be out all day on Friday for practice and racing early morning and late afternoon on the Saturday and Sunday. We held out hope that they might give us 3 races a day, but it wasn't to be.

At least we get to practice with the pro-twins and naked bikes class, which are a motley crew of V-twins - KTMs and Ducatis.

Friday is free, but Saturday and Sunday will cost you $30 a day to get in ($40 for the weekend if you come both days).

See you there!

Tim Boujos took 4 wins from 4 and set a new electric record of 1:16.184, which is about 4 seconds a lap slower than the 600 cc bikes, and 9 seconds slower than the fastest superbikes (1000 cc) in the country.

I'll do a bit of a racing press release soon. Meantime, watch the ammeter and voltmeter do their thing at 240 km/h!

Interesting video more VD / pack sag than I would have expected, but that is the great thing about real life footage, it sorts fact from fiction.

What was the rested voltage by the end of the race?

At rest it sat on 614 V. Tim did a 1:19 on lap 1 and a 1:16 on lap two. After that he was so far ahead he just circulated in the 1:20s to bring it home. We leave the pits with 700 V but this steadies fairly quickly to about 690 V.

It's only a 10 Ah pack though, so sag is pretty significant at 25 C Image

Yeah I guess the 10Ah is going to play a fairly significant role in it. You might need to fit a rear camera to give us something to look at :D
