Yep and my trike will do 2.7sec quarters at 900mph.
The bull crap stops the moment it has its first run, up until it lays days it's first pass all figures are pure speculation.

EV drag racing in Tassie!
Attached is a media release from Tas Dragway. They intend to set a state record for EV drag racing on 29th August. The track is 1/8 mile.
TasDragway.pdf

The hope is to get one of our local Tesla drivers involved. The track is within the range of my Brumby though, so I've registered myself! Never been to any motorsport before even as a spectator so this will be an experience...

There is no current record so whoever does the best on this day will hold the state record. Apparently there also is no Australian record, but that won't be set this time because it can only be set at a National meet.

Ok so I turned up and now the Brumby holds the record for the fastest 1/8th mile time by an electric car in Tasmania.
The Tesla guy couldn't make it there and back again quickly enough for his next engagement (no chargers along the way better than a 15A socket) so he had to pull out.
The other guy with a conversion broke his car the other day in trying to make it go faster.
So it was just me!

Here is a link that may work. It is a video I posted on Facebook.

And here is my time!

Unfortunately they were having problems with their tech on the day and my speed didn't get recorded. Would have been about 90kph.

It is long but not currently compliant. They are hoping to get certified for 1/4 mile soon - perhaps even before this year is out.
For the moment in theory the 1/8 works in the favour of electric motors.

Yes I need to update that EV Album.
Judging from the graphs from Kostov I reckon I should be able to get 70kW out of it.
Weight is also a bit vague, I haven't had it on a weighbridge since I installed the lithium cells. But should be about 1400kg or so.
So more power and more weight than the iMiEV. And geared differently.

I had it in 2WD, with low rolling resistance tyres at about 35 or 40psi. I started in 2nd and changed to 3rd at around 60kph. It can be a bit difficult to know if a wheel is spinning, but there was definitely wheelspin in 2nd, and one observer said he saw wheelspin in 3rd.
You don't use 4WD on roads or it binds up and breaks something. But I was speaking to some people afterwards with Subaru experience and apparently it would have been fine in a straight line. So if I entered again I would:
1. Deflate the tyres somewhat.
2. Use 4WD.
3. Practice!

I only had one go, since this is my daily drive car and I only recently broke it from going too fast. I don't want to break it again! It is going in for a paint job today which will show off that nice Huon Pine trophy!

Uhmm... I've missed this old news. Recently popped in my news feed (here).

Googling it, not much I could find apart from self-link to article such as this one. I thought this one going to be oz-made Rimac.

Voltron has done a 9.928 s pass, but I'd be keen to know what the fastest EV 1/4 mile in Australia is.
