AEVA Membership Status about to be Automated
One of the benefits of the new forum is the ability to automatically set your AEVA Membership status from our Membership Database. I have been working on this for the past couple of days and the programming is almost ready to go.
However, the only way my program can reliably identify you in our AEVA Membership database is via your email address. Using the email link, my program will shortly be adding 100 people to the AEVA Member group, but it will also be relieving 80 people in this forum of their AEVA Membership status. Looking at this list of 80, I see several that I know are current AEVA Members.
So, now is the time to check your email address in your Member Profile and make sure it is the same as the one registered with your AEVA Membership details? While you're at it, make sure your Membership Subscription is up to date too!
If you have any trouble updating your email address, or there is some reason you can't use the same email address for this Forum and your AEVA Membership registration, please send me a private message and I will do my best to help you sort it out.

Changed Colour?
An automated process now checks for your email address in the AEVA Membership database and updates your AEVA Membership status in this forum accordingly.
This runs every half an hour (at 10 and 40 mins past the hour), so if you change your email address in the Forum to match that in the AEVA Membership database (or vice versa), your Forum AEVA Membership status should catch up within 30 minutes.

Wow - that's really neat! I shouldn't be surprised, as database management is your thing, but I still get blown away by a Skype conversation across the world...

Re: AEVA Membership Status about to be Automated
I have a quick question. I don't get email notifications about posts any more.
Should this work?

Re: AEVA Membership Status about to be Automated
Hi Johny,
I noticed this pretty early => viewtopic.php?p=65319#p65319
I had to re-subscribe. It works a bit differently - the emails don't include the posts and you only get one notification per topic until you go back to the forum and read it.
I'm not used to it yet...

Hi Johny,
I am still investigating how we can recover the functionality we used to have that included the text of the forum message in the notification email.
As Woody has pointed out, the way this works has changed. Further down from the post Woody linked to, I have described how all the old notifications are still there, you just have to spell out how you wish to be notified about them.

Hi people
I emailed admin 4 days ago about regaining my membership but had no reply.
I used to have user name HeadsUp on the forum but didnt use it for years so i guess your new system cancelled it ?
How do i get my old user name back please so i can access old posts ?
I also have a new email address.
What say you ?

Re: AEVA Membership Status about to be Automated
The new email address would probably be the source of the problem. You should be able to post in the forum now, and post in the for sale forum if you become a financial member of the association (www.aeva.asn.au/membership)WhereIsAdmin wrote: ↑Tue, 04 Sep 2018, 16:29 Hi people

Re: AEVA Membership Status about to be Automated
@WhereIsAdmin,
We have no way of knowing what the HeadsUp account's password was, and so could not transfer it to the new system. But we do know what the old email address was. Can you please tell me what that email address was, by private message, so we have some reason to trust that you have a legitimate claim to the HeadsUp account.
Once satisfied, we will add your current email address to the HeadsUp account and email you a new random password, which you can then change.
