It really picks up nicely when you put your foot down too.

The next video from YouTube had the tractor with its engine noisily idling away, it'll be much nicer to work around it once the conversion is finished. It makes me wonder why we don't have more commercial electric farm equipment already (but that can be said about most EV markets, they all have their hurdles I guess)

Two major hurdles I can see from my farming experience.
First is run time. 'Proper' farms go through periods of time where they are running their equipment 24/7 to get things done between weather events. Stopping to refuel is annoying, stopping for recharging would be a deal-breaker.
The other is that farming often happens a long way from infrastructure. Even in Tasmania we were often working 30 km from the nearest house, and 30 km is a long way to drive in a tractor. You can take a large tank of diesel and sit it in the paddock for all the tractors and trucks to refuel from. Then get a refuelling tanker to fill it up every few days as required. Nothing like that exists for electric.

The conversion being done here is ideal. This type of tractor is used as a general dogsbody around the farm. You hop on, do a 5 minute job, then put it away. This might happen several times during the day, and noise is a big factor. Then it will occasionally be used for a small slashing job, which might take 3 hours.

Agreed that for big farms EVs aren't ideal, but for hobby farms?
Electric forklifts are a thing and they work very well in the right use case, it's not hard for manufacturers to transfer the technology across.
That being said, electric forklifts are out there but 99% of workshops/farms/industrial settings etc that only use the equipment for 5 min stints and normally have access to good power use petrol/gas forklifts. Too scared of the unknown and too many horror stories of expensive batteries /repairs I guess

If used inside sheds etc. there is also no Carbon Monoxide problem with an electric version.

I installed a regen and reversing contactor on my tractor, and now i need to adjust brush timing to near zero, what is efficiency gain with advanced timing vs neutral?
The voltage and rpm is low but the amps are high.

advanced timing helps when running higher voltage at higher rpm (at the expense of performance at lower voltage and lower rpm)

I would suggest do it, and see how it behaves
