Need Help with J1772 wiring. Gelco EVSE ??

I have converted my LandRover and have no problems charging it at home , I simply have a 15Amp 3 pin plug connected to a J1772 on the car .
There are no smarts in the car, The back of the J1772 simply connects to the 3.3Kw TC Charger , with a 240V Relay on the AC side to tell the BMS when the charger is live. It has a proximity resistor .

There are some Tesla destination chargers nearby so I bought a Gelco GS1018 http://www.gelcoservices.com.au/gelco_e ... ehicle.htm
This plugs into the Tesla charge cable on one end , has a black box (EVSE ??) in the middle & J1772 plug on the other end . When I connect to a Tesla charger the green Tesla Light animates & the Power LED on EVSE comes on but is as far as I get .
So can someone please advise what I need to make my EVSE function .

Thanks , have just installed as per EVTV circuit diagram,
Bob at Gelco emailed me another version of same resistor /diode circuit, Have installed , will report back with results.

The Tesla charger needs to be set to legacy mode.... Dip switch 2 inside it...

The 882 Ohm resistor and 1N4148 diode will work on most Charging points, but the new 3 phase Tesla HPWC's are fussy.

You would of been better off to use a type 2 socket on the lightweight.. It's becoming more common by the day..

Im prepared to change the charge socket if I need to , ....... EV Range is only a minor inconvenience, I have a workaround for that :)

Sketch Coleman is powering an inverter from his 4x4 battery (has another big battery in parallel) which he uses to charge his electric supermoto. He needs to have the vehicle running to keep the power up to the alternator, but at least it's possible to charge trackside when there aren't points available.

A type-2 inlet would be a worthwhile investment.

Yeah......indeedy.

Go type 2 moving forward. Type 1 will disappear depending on how stubborn the japanese manufacturers are... :-)

The diode and resistor trick worked, Plugged into 3 phase Tesla Destination charger & LandRover now charges at the usual slow rate of 3.3kw (as indicated on Zeva BMS) . Have also ordered AVC2 module.

Chris, I have a 180Amp alternator in the Iveco but only a 2kw inverter installed , meybe I should invest in a bigger inverter . hmm good idea.
