why not to buy a Nissan LEAF in Hot climates.
go for a volt instead, a poor man's Tesla
or a Tesla - Nickel, Cobalt, aluminum
charging at 40, 50, 60 degrees C.
additives = secret sauce.
high precision charger.

This is a thread on LiS batteries.
The title gives it away.
Perhaps you could start you own thread on "crappy leaf batteries".

Not sure their optimism has been realised yet though. From the above link there is this:
Yet a manual hunt through GP Batteries Singapore's website reveals nothing about Lithium Sulphur batteries that I could find (unfortunately their website search function doesn't work for me).OXIS Energy's successfully developed and patented new chemistries will be commercially available by early 2014, GP batteries of Singapore will be the first large-scale manufacturer to produce Lithium Sulfur cells...

Lithium Sulfur Batteries
A while back Winston was promising a LiS battery and went as far as publishing some performace figures which looked very good.
It seems that the issues have involved conductivity (Sulfur is an insulator) and longevity. The rotten cycle life problem is slowly being solved by companies like
PolyPlus, who have developed an encapsulation method to isolate lithium electrode from the sulfides that have killed early cells.
This story in the June 2015 of PV magazine is indicating that Oxis has a commercially ready LiS battery, although their projected pricing looks to be twice that of other Lithium chemistries, the opposite of what you'd think with sulfur being a waste material.
