105g/km CO2?

Post by Manxmahnn »

Just wondering if the CO2 produced by relevant power generation would be included in the assessment of viability for e-cars? Or will it be ignored, thus allowing unfair advantage and movement of the problem rather than solving it? I'd like to see some figures on this, although I suspect unless we compare like with like, KW wise, we won't get far.

It is - and it has been recently updated to be a bit more relevant to the new mix of energy in the grid. You can find the most recent update of the factors here:

This may have been a discussion like 10 years ago.
It wont be long before you either drive an e-car or don't drive at all.
Pollution has no factor in it anymore.
So the short answer is NO but the long answer is YES.

Problem is now is that the trolls are grasping the emissions thing with both hands and giving it a vigorous shake.

Oh.
Well I guess they have to complain about something.
As it is now, the way I see it, Solar is cheaper than grid power.
So it just a case of people to transition to renewable power.
Well in Australia that is.

Gas is dead, coal power is dead, nuclear is dead.
If the factories generating the products are on renewable then the whole "emission factor" is dead.

Tell them to go watch the 3rd industrial revolution.
