EV across the Outback

Post by Ultralights »

Has anyone been supporting, or helping out these guys with their EV conversion for a trip across the Simpson Desert in an EV?

just facebook Outback EV,   they do have a kickstarter champaign running, that doesn't look like it will hit its target.

If you are talking about http://clementsxcreek.com.au

I think they have missed the boat . A couple of "old school" converted Suzuki LJ's with Optima batteries & fold out PV Arrays crossed the Simpson a few weeks ago .

White one took 5 days ( Permanent Magnet motor & 32 x 200Ah Winstons ) - It took me longer in an ICE 4x4

That's really cool! Brian Swain over here in the west suggested we run a Canning Stock Route EV challenge... It's a tough slog just getting to the start line.

I haven't seen this magazine format before, like it! I always like the idea converted Suzuki with solar panels. Boy oh boy, this one takes it to another level!!
