Why would it matter these days?
The only people who asked previously are corporations looking to see if they can make a buck in a growing niche market.
As a matter of interest I believe someone from AEVA asked the DOT for numbers of registered vehicles as electric.

So the short answer is NO but the long answer is YES.

We have access to Vfacts data, which doesn't include Teslas. Still, there's about 3000 registered EVs in Australia since 2010. This doesn't include motorcycles or scooters, or converted vehicles, but they are a minority.

A Prius, 2 electric bicycles and an electric scooter so far. The plan is the whole fleet will be either PHEV or full electric, one so far and 5 to go. The three motorhomes and the beavertail 12 tonne truck will be the biggest challenges, the 6 cyl sedan will be replaced with another Prius hopefully by the end of the yr. A trip to the city is over a 300km round trip from here when we need to stock up so full electric is out of the question, the truck and one of the motorhomes just returned from a 3,000km round trip and that needs to be repeated in 4 weeks time, not something that could be achieved with full electric at the moment, but we live in hope.

Hi, My 89 SK410 Suzuki Super Carry, has passed Electrical and RMS engineer inspections and am awaiting paperwork for rego .Being a pre-baby boomer pensioner; (1945 back are called workers) living in poverty I am persisting with lead and because of this I had to remove one rear seat to meet the weight requirements. According to the RMS engineer , the Carry was never a 4 seater vehicle in AU and the rear seats are aftermarket. Also , the RMS 68kg rating per passenger is out of touch with our current Mc'Donald's population size, so if this is upgraded the third seat will go as well.

At least all that lead in the back should solve the rear traction issues. Had trouble getting up hills in the wet in the petrol one occasionally.

Ha ha. I had one as well and got stuck trying to get up a hill in the wet. Had to get my German Shepherd to go right to the rear and drop there to get some traction (he wasn't happy - he liked to peer over my shoulder when we were moving). That didn't work either. Ended up going back and around a longer way.

Hi,
I now have an IMiev which I'm currently very happy with. Nice little car.
I still have my two Vectrix's which I paid to be modified to the uprated LI batteries. They have performed very well.
I have two petrol motor bikes now. I find that choosing each type of bike (including Vectrix) is wonderful because each one highlights the differences of the others.
I rode a Vectrix yesterday and had the feeling that I was riding high on a bullet-shaped bike. Never felt that way before when riding it. It's simply the contrast of the riding experiences.
I got two Vectrixes because I thought I would need some parts when the first one stopped but they are hardy little buggxrs
I'm pleased to have the feeling that the world is changing to electric before our eyes. Audi has just opted out of the World Endurance Championship and gone specifically to Formula E because the company says that this is their core future business and half their racing experts in these fields will be required to help design their road cars. Sounds pretty good although I will miss watching the WEC hybrids make the Ford Sucker Cars look totally pedestrian (and Ferrari) .

To see the second last race of the 2016 World Endurance Championship in Mexico (6Hr), it's on Foxtel Sport around Sunday the 6th of November.
The Audi runs in LMP1 along with Porsche and Toyota (unlimited factory support, I know).
Watch the top level LMP1 cars make the standard petrol cars look like not worth owning (at least, for me). It's like running the lesser categories in the middle of the (rather ordinary) Australian cars at the top level at Bathurst. Truly, they're as boring as sh*t, are they not?

Vectrix...nice.
I'm looking very hard at the options for learner approved electric two wheels right now.
Vectrix plus mods looks like the best option although not cheap.
Wish the Zero was LAMS legal. I'd find the money somehow!

Nice.
The NSW list said only pre 2015 Zero are allowed and the early ones have a small battery with a very limited range.

The only pre 2015 one I can find for sale is a 2011 with a 4kwh battery.......60km range tops in city traffic.
And that's $9k....
Bit of reading up looks like 2013/14 ones have a decent range and are LAMS approved....but none for sale.

After reading this article in RenewEconomy and got directed here by Peter's post, I thought I might as well put up this graph:
It's got data up to August, but I'm fairly confident things have been quiet since.
Fingers crossed we see more models enter the Australian market next year.
