There is a new standard coming into effect that wants to be able to control gear connected to the grid "so they can turn it off/on" this includes EV chargers >>

When we had the Nissan LEAF during the Victorian EV Trial they supplied a DiUS charge station. One of the tests DiUS wanted to do was shut the charger down temporarily via the Smartmeter (Zigbee) for half an hour during the night. They did this successfully. That was four years ago.
I'm surprised how slow this is progressing but I guess it's dependent on the Smartmeter rollout.

Was aware that they wanted to do it.
Wasn't aware they had given them numbers

Ah just one more reason not to be on the Grid grid grid...
