DIY Conversions nearly dead ?

I am seriously considering buying a RWC car to convert so I can transfer the rego across and keep it going whilst I convert I have a blade electron with a bad motor and controller, and no battery sitting in my driveway That would make an ideal donor car, mainly because instead of an engineering cer...

DIY Conversions nearly dead ?

actually, I would go a step further, a lobby for right to repair laws, that requires car manufacturers to publish enough information on their cars to be able to maintain them.

DIY Conversions nearly dead ?

At this point in time I wouldn't buy a commercial EV offering simply because it takes away from being self maintainable (I don't want to swap one dependance for another). The solution here is reverse engineering, as has already been done with Vectrix, leaf, iMiev, etc Self maintainable is possible,...

DIY Conversions nearly dead ?

someone needs to buy the expensive OEM EV's and crash them to create a source of cheap parts for the DIY crowd For a while batteries were dirt cheap because the leaf modules were'nt worth anything. Now the price has gone up and the US is the main exporter of used batteries from crashed EV's DIY isn'...

WTB: Vectrix (or functional equivilant)

I'm aiming for 110 capable. I do find myself out on the M4 every now and then, and don't want to be not able to keep up with traffic. A vectrix can definately do that, so can a newer Zero. The guy selling the green one on gumtree got back to me last night. It's running SLA batteries, and he's claim...

WTB: Vectrix (or functional equivilant)

The noise is the straight cut gears in the gearbox. They last forever. The quieter helical cut gears ate quieter, but also weaker with higher friction loses All the vectrix in Australia are 2007. There was only one shipment of like 200 bikes. They're fairly cheap now due to their age. It's a shame b...

2008 Mazda 2 conversion - $9k - Perth

Hi Guys, I'm selling my 2008 Mazda 2 conversion Originally converted by EV shop back in 2009 Since buying last year I have swapped the MC for a Zeva 1000A unit, installed a J1772 charge port and a DC charge/discharge port specs: 70km range (would be way higher but battery is down on capacity) 41 x T...

E rider scooter batteries?

Has anyone successfully and happily imported cells from EVLithium? I just want to verify their credibility, before I consider using them. Thanks port charges start at around $1000 for a small box and go up to $5000 for a sea container If importing batteries from overseas, make sure to fill out a se...

My NHW10 (Mk1 Prius) is alive!

That's a shame to hear

unfortunately there's no easy way to limit the regen or drive current and voltage limits, without reprogramming the battery ECU

There was so much promise with these cars, but it seems to be getting too hard now

New Blade Electron owner

Update: The vibration has progressively become worse, and now the car is dead :( interestingly, the motor no longer spins even when the gearbox is in neutral. I haven't had a chance to pull it apart to inspect the mechanicals of it - pictures to follow when I do. Does anyone else here have a motor/c...

Replacement Tesla 70kWh only 20kg

I have been recycling about 25 kg of dead LiCo pouch cells using a Stanley knife and some NMP solvent to remove the LiCoO2 special sauce. The active material is worth ~$32 a kilo (and I have about 100 g). Still, it's best not to waste it. There's about $50 worth of copper in there too. interesting ...

They had to order the part and would call me (or maybe you matt?) when it was ready to go. E rider scooter batteries?

10 mudules are $1900. Planning to get miniBMS for about $500. MiniBMS is a surprising choice - is there a version you can buy that has the right shunt and HVD settings for the leaf modules? (4.1v and 4.2v respectively) If not, might be worth looking into a programmable BMS such as the Zeva or Triti...
