I thought the FIT was from the government. I had heard western power had reduced their price for feed-in power by some three cents/kwh, but it was still 18c/kwh (or possibly 15c/kwh, with the 40c on top of that.

Wouldn't you want to feed into the grid at the times when you get the most cash for the power, and then consume power from the grid off-peak? It ought to save you money. I'm tempted to try and go off-grid entirely, since i'm sick of western power, but as my coworker pointed out the grid makes a grea...

I'm still not 100% sure of the difference between the vanilla american Open Revolt and the Oz Cougar. But at this point i'm definitely building one of these for my bike, with lower power components if it'll save me money haha

Tesla Model S All-Wheel-Drive!?

I've just been perusing the Tesla Club forum, and on the post regarding the Model S they say it will be all-wheel-drive after the first year or so.

Can you say electric rally car!? I hope this is true.

Tesla S ordered forAustralia

Depends on how much money i have coming in at the time. And on whether the short range version can be upgraded later on, or something. It would also depend on where i'm living. If we're not living far from the inlaws, then short range would be fine. It might not even matter. There's a ferry called t...

Mitsubishi's plan for the future!

Good on them, i say. It's exactly what we've been saying here for years. Why can't we have a choice of drivetrain for the same car?

Also: Don't read the comments unless you're prepared for an argument. The stupid is depressing.

It looks great, i think, like one of the go-carts on Mario Kart. With some decent batteries it'd be fun to race around the neighbourhood!

Why would you want a LHD? By the time the S comes out, i'll probably be living in Canada. :P I once read a book (scifi) where one of the characters had a new model Jaguar with four hub motors, some kind of fancy fusion power source, and automatically adjustable suspension and tyre tread! From low r...

My water meter is in a pit in the footpath. Sure it attracts spiders, but that sort of thing is probably not a bad idea to house a couple of power points - with suitable drainage / an IP65 lids. Two plugs per pit, with the lid designed to allow an extension cord through while the it is shut. As long...

Man, the WA government has its head in the sand about pretty much everything. Dumbarses. Anyway that's another thread subject. haha How accurate are those power meters, Tuarn? I've heard the jaycar cheap ones aren't the best, compared to something like the kill-a-watt. It's a good idea, though. I've...

Congratulations! If i had the cash on hand now, i'd reserve a LHD one for myself. Hopefully by the time they're available i can wrangle it. It really does seem like the ideal car for me. The only way it could be better is if it had some kind of fancy lifting suspension system and 4wd. An electric sp...

Worlds biggest EV order - 22,000 + for GE

Wow! That's a big order. I doubt they'll be Teslas, as a sales team wouldn't have much use for a two seat roadster. (though a seven seat station wagon/sedan/whateveritis would be quite good). No doubt it'll be the Leaf or iMiev or some other five-seater.

Hey guys. I was perusing the getup site just now, and came across a "Fast tracked introduction of electric vehicles" suggestion that was posted about a month ago. Whether you agree with their tactics or not, they do get results (or at least attention), so maybe we should all vote for this ...

I dunno about the spyder, but the uneec thing is pretty neato. I'm not a fan of the pod-and-boom type that this is close to, but still its neat. Just needs an on-board fusion plant. :P

Wait. You're going to keep the capri, and give a replica Lamborghini to your 18 year old daughter? You've got it backwards, man! Especially if this EV will live up to the Lambo name.

I like the millitary rod. I like the epic art deco style in general, and that's a good example of it. Of course it wouldn't have made a good scout car. Now an electric Ferret Scout Car with some kind of fusion power plant would be totally awesome. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley17.gif That ...
